the area in two weeks, was the fitting winner of the Slough Masters
title tonight. In the final he trounced John Barclay (Chalfont)
but his biggest test came in the semi-final against Mike Rhodes.
Steve had to come back from a game deficit to defeat Mike who had been
unbeaten in the Slough League this season, winning all 41 of his

Graham Trimming.

with Chan and Steve Munson suffered a loss, against the rankings, to
Karl Bushell who has been in good form for a few weeks. Karl
also led 19-16 and 20-19 in the first game of the final but, in the
end, Jason proved too strong and a worthy winner.
-
- British Primary Schools'
Championships 21-22.4.01
- Cippenham's Evans brothers Bradley (aged
11) and Myles (aged 9) were both unbeaten as England win the British

do so.
-
- Veterans' British League 21-22.4.01
- The Cippenham veteran men's team
suffered greatly though losing the services of top player Clive Payne
and finished fifth in Division 2 and consequently face relegation next
season. Tim Heaps was in greatly improved form and won 6 of his

over Seasiders and draws with Ellenborough and Thompson Insurance was
not enough to improve upon the position after the first half.
-
- ETTA National Junior Masters
21-22.4.01
- Two Cippenham members finished in the
silver medal positions today at the National Junior Masters.
Joanna Parker almost equalled her gold medal in the Cadet Masters

-
- ETTA National Cadet Masters 31.3-1.4.01
- In another highly successful day for Cippenham TTC there were two
medals for home players in the National Cadet Masters played at their
club. Joanna Parker just about beat off the challenge of Abigail
Embling to win the girls' event while Bradley Evans surpassed all
expectations to finish second in the boys'. This was a fantastic
performance from a player ranked only 7 in the competitors'
list. Another home player who shone, especially on Saturday, was
David Hayes who came a very creditable 8th having started as the
lowest of the 16 players.
-
- Cippenham Cadet 3 Star Open Championships 25.3.01

-
- County Championships Junior Premier Division 24-25.3.01
- A
Buckinghamshire team, full of Cippenham players, came so close to
winning the County Championships Junior Premier Division.
In the end a 5-5 last-ditch draw with Surrey was only enough
for second place but this was still an excellent performance from the
team in its first season at the top level. Bucks led Surrey 3-1 and 4-2 and had they managed the magical
6-4 scoreline would have become national champions. Despite finishing only second Bucks went through both
weekends unbeaten.
-

win over an under-strength OLOP team.

members to impress were Maurice Isaacs who reached
the semi, Karl Bushell (quarters) and Tim Heaps who
lost narrowly to Holman in the last 16. The Women's
Singles was won by Kim Johnson (Wales) who beat
Cippenham member Jackie Wood in the final.
- National Junior League (Southern Region)
10.3.01
- Cippenham Girls' "C" team duly won the
Division 1 title of the NJL today despite losing the
services of two-thirds (Katherine Tweedy; Helen
Smith) of the regular team. Regular member Sylvana
Bielec teamed up with reserves to carry the Club to
its second title in three years. The promotion of
players from the second team to the first team
resulted in the former losing out on second place by
one point to Bournemouth. However, the Boys
"D" team did gain medals by winning
Division 2 while the Boys' "C" team
finished third in Division 1.
-
- Cippenham Super League 8.3.01
- A win apiece for Martin Adams and Wes Bush-Harris
gave Cippenham Aces a valuable 3-2 win over OLOP AWCS
tonight to effectively end the latter's hopes of
claiming the title. This will now be decided between
Aces and London Progress. Cippenham Kings also had a
very close match with Eddie's Lot and came away with
a 3-2 win. Michael Chan and Karl Bushell both won two
each for the losing teams.
-
- Slough League championship 6.3.01

-
- Junior British League 17-18.2.01
- Cippenham's Girls' "A" team, sponsored by
law firm Addleshaw Booth & Co. have retained the
Junior British League Girls' Premier Division title
and so are national champions for the second time. It
was as easy as "ABC" as they did not lose
another set after the first encounter of the weekend
and had wrapped up the title by Saturday evening. In
the final analysis Addleshaw Booth Cippenham won all
10 matches, losing only 4 sets, and were 9 points
clear of their nearest challengers. Karen Shepherd
went through the season unbeaten while Jo Parker lost
only once and Gemma Chapman three times. The Girls'
"B" team (Emily Tucker; Gemma Hollett;
Francesca Parnell) played exceptionally well also to
win Division 2 while the Boys' "A" team
(Warren Brooks; Adam Bleakley; Robert Hansell)
remained unbeaten throughout the season and were
desperately unlucky to be pipped into second place in
Division 1.

- Both Cippenham teams returned from the final session
of the Women's British League in Cheshire
unsuccessful. The first team finished bottom of the
Premier Division, and only secured one draw and a
walkover in the last five matches. Surprisingly, the
draw came in the final match of the weekend and was
gained at the expense of the second-placed team Leeds
Ladies. Cippenham went 3-0 down in this match before
Joanna Parker, Rebecca Fisher and Gemma Chapman all
won their final matches. The second team finished
fifth in Division 2 but was severely weakened during

the team could muster only one win, a 5-1 first round
defeat of Seasiders, and a 3-3 draw with PAA from
their five matches. Mike Rhodes, elevated to number

matches in April.

remaining unbeaten record. OLOP AWCS took advantage

-
- British League 2nd Weekend 25-26.11.00
- The Cippenham team in British League Division 1 South
had an unsuccessful weekend. Taking an unbeaten
