Commonwealth Games 3.08.02
Gareth Herbert, Cippenham's table tennis superstar, sensationally won a second gold medal in the Manchester Commonwealth Games.  He and Andrew Baggaley saved three match points in the final of the Men's Doubles before securing a 17-15 fifth-game win over Ryan Jenkins and Adam Robertson (Wales).  The Men's Singles winner was Segun Toriola, the man that Gareth beat in the team final on Tuesday!
 
Commonwealth Games Team Events 26-30.7.02
Cippenham's Gareth Herbert won gold in the Men's Team Event at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester - the first time that table tennis has been included in the Games.  Along with Matthew Syed and Alex Perry, Gareth won his singles in a 3-0 final victory over Nigeria.
 
Schools Home Internationals 28-29.6.02
Robert Lemon became the latest Cippenham player to receive international honours when he and Gemma Chapman appeared for England in the Schools Home Internationals in Cardiff.  Gemma won gold in the U16 team event and was Girls' Singles finalist while Robert was a runner-up in the U16 team event and semi-finalist in the Boys' Singles.
 
Club Championships & Handicap Tournament 16.6.02
38 players competed in this annual event with 12 winning at least one event.  Mark Jackson retained his Open Singles and Open Doubles titles, the latter with Robert Hansell who also won Tweenie Singles and Handicap Singles.  David Hayes was the busiest player on the day, winning the Boys' Singles and Cadet Singles while Gemma Chapman won the Girls' Singles, Melanie Farquhar the U12 Singles and Paul Baker the Veterans' Singles.  Winners of other events included Robin Farquhar, Susana Hansell, Robert Lemon, Chris Sabourin, Andy Spiers and Chris Tucker.
 
Cippenham Veterans' Summer 2-Star Open 15.6.02
Top seeds Dave Harvey (Gs) and Sheila King (Sx) took the main honours with Chris Pichard (Mi) and local girl Jackie Wood (Bk) taking the runners-up spot.  A good entry of 72 had an enjoyable day's play.
 
National Under-10/11/12 Championships 8-9.6.02
Gavin Evans underlined his amazing potential by retaining his national U10 Boys' Singles title and adding the U11 title also - not bad for a 9-year old!  Katie Rule, the latest of Cippenham's promising youngsters, reached the final of the U10 Girls' Singles while Myles Evans lost in the semis of both U10 and U11 Boys' Singles and Melanie Farquhar reached the same stage of U12 Girls' Singles and U12 Girls' Doubles.
 
Cippenham Young Players' Summer Festival 1-2.6.02
This two-day 1-star open tournament proved to be the biggest and best yet at Cippenham.  Organizer and Referee Ken Phillips had to juggle with 326 entries from 180 players playing about 850 matches on 16 tables.  Wow!  What a load for the catering staff!  Cippenham players were successful also, winning half of the ten events - two for Dorian Robinson and Sylvana Bielec and one for Melanie Farquhar.
 
Slough League AGM 30.5.02
Sue Hayes was presented with the Coral Racing Trophy at the Slough AGM tonight.  This is in recognition of her contribution to the sport in the Slough area and is fitting reward for one of Cippenham's foremost and hardest-working coaches who also organizes the Slough junior teams amongst many other tasks.  Jeremy Bateman (General Secretary), Peter Hillier (Treasurer), Graham Trimming (Fixtures Secretary), Clive Perry (Competitions Secretary) and Elroy Hull (Inter-League Secretary) were all re-elected into their positions but Mike Rhodes (Press Secretary) relinquished his due to his pending move out of the area.
 
Annual General Meeting 28.5.02
Club Secretary Graham Trimming reported another successful season for the Club at the AGM.  There were few changes to the Management Committee - Sue Hayes took over as Bookings Officer from Mike Rhodes, who is leaving the area, and Dave Bull joined as a Committee member.
 
National Team Finals 25-26.5.02
Cippenham TTC has won the Gainsford Cup - the women's national team championship - for the first time.  All three matches were won in the finals - Settlement 5-2, Ellenborough 5-0 and Bramley Ebenezer 5-3.  This was despite not being at full strength and congratulations go to Gemma Chapman, Sue Hayes and Jane Dickens.  The Slough cadet girls' team also won their competition - the Hammersley Cup - also for the first time with a team of Cippenham youngsters: Sylvana Bielec; Caroline Linz; Catherine Hayes.
 
National Junior/Cadet Championships 18-19.5.02
Cippenham TTC has the National Junior Girls' champion for the first time.  Last year's cadet champion, Joanna Parker (14 years old), capitalized on her recent good form to overturn her number three seeding.  In the final she beat national under-21 champion Georgina Walker while earlier in the semi-final she had put out the 2000 champion Katy Parker, a regular member of the England senior team in the European League.
 
Tunes Cup Final 16.5.02
Cippenham Beggars received a 160 point start to win the Tunes Cup - the Slough League Youth Division team handicap - to beat Cippenham Desperadoes in the final.  The Beggars team was David Baker and Alexander Lovell.
 
Cippenham Super League Players' Championship 9.5.02
Jason Sugrue capped two years unbeaten in the Cippenham Super League by retaining his individual title after a final showdown with Robert Pountney which ended 11-8 in the fifth.  The losing semi-finalists were James Sprackling and Mark Jackson.
 
National Junior Masters 4-5.5.02
Cippenham's Joanna Parker finished third in the girls' section of the National Junior Masters played at her home club.  The events were won by Matthew Kenny (Yorkshire) and Georgina Walker (Nottinghamshire).
 
Slough Masters Tournament 30.4.02
Mark Banks just about saw off the challenge of 14-years old David Hayes at 11-8 in the fifth of a titanic match to win the Slough Masters Tournament final.  This was the second time that Mark had won this title, the other being in 1992.  In the semi-finals Mark beat Paul Baker while David beat Slough Closed champion Mark Jackson, having eliminated 1999 champion Mike Rhodes in the first round.
 
Slough Closed Championships 27-28.4.02
All the major titles came to Cippenham at the Slough Closed.  Mark Jackson won the Men's Singles and Handicap Singles while Mike Rhodes, who also won the Veterans' Singles for the sixth time, and Paul Baker lifted the Men's Doubles.  The Boys' Singles title went to Oliver Shaw while Matthew Tucker was successful in both the Cadet Singles and U12 Singles.
 
Dilger Cup Final 23.4.02
Cippenham Rogues (Geoff Harris, James Milton, Sue Hayes) won the team knock-out handicap Dilger Cup trophy with a comprehensive 407-333 win over South Bucks UNISON Bees.  Rogues therefore completed the league and cup double, the first time this has happened since Langley Spartans did the same in 1970.
 
National Cadet League 4th Session (21.4.02)
Cippenham's two teams in the NCL Southern Region Girls' Division eclipsed all opposition to finish first and second.  The title went to the Thrillers team of Sylvana Bielec, Melanie Farquhar and Catherine Hayes while the Stars (Rebecca Tweedy, Eleanor Tweedy, Jenny Hansell, Hannah Judge, Caroline Linz) were runners-up.
 
National Cadet Masters (20-21.4.02)
Cippenham's Bradley Evans and James Milton finished sixth and tenth respectively at the National Cadet Masters over the weekend.  David Hayes had to withdraw through injury and Gavin Evans (only just 9 years old) failed to qualify for the second day.  The events were won by Paul Drinkhall (Cleveland) and Abigail Embling (Essex).
 
British League 4th Weekend (20.4.02)
Both Cippenham teams won one match and lost another in the final session of the British League season.  The first team finished either third or fourth in Division 1 South while the second team came runners-up in Division 3 South.
 
Cippenham Super League 18.4.02
London Progress I, the British League champions for the past four years, again proved their supremacy by lifting the Cippenham Super League title for the second year.  Jason Sugrue again remained unbeaten throughout the entire season to claim the prize for the top average.  For double delight the Progress second team leapfrogged above Cippenham Aces to claim second spot and push Aces down to third.
 
Cippenham Cadet 3-Star Open 14.4.02
Cippenham's Bradley Evans saved three match points to win his own club's Cadet Open with a 15-13 in the fifth victory over Marc Armstrong (Mi).  Cippenham's representative in the final of the Girls' Singles did not fare so well, going down in three games against Sarra Wang (E).  Sylvana had done well to beat top seed Claire Howe to reach the final.  A massive entry of 106 players made for a very busy day for organizer Sue Hayes and referee Mick Strode.
 
Slough League Individual Handicap Finals 9.4.02
Cippenham players made it a clean sweep in the Slough handicap competitions are David Hayes won the Lynford Bowl, Catherine Hayes the Wharton Vase and Jeremy Bateman and Clive Perry combined to win the John Crane Doubles.
 
Slough League Youth Division 7.4.02
Cippenham Desperadoes were the winners of the Youth Division concluded today.  The team throughout the season were the Shaw brothers, Oliver and Ashley. In second place were Cippenham Waifs (Sebastian Bielec and Sylvana Bielec).  This was Cippenham's fifth successive Youth division title and tenth overall. 
 
Slough League 28.3.02
Cippenham Rogues beat Burnham Cheetahs 10-0 to claim the championship of the Slough League, overhauling Cippenham Pirates by just two points.  Congratulations to the team of Mark Jackson, David Hayes, James Milton, Geoff Harris and Sue Hayes.  This is the ninth successive year that Cippenham has won the Slough League title and eighteenth overall.  Both are records.
 
National Junior League 23.3.02
Cippenham "C" team retained their title in the Girls' Division of the National Junior League Southern Region.  The team started the day in second place and owed their success to the non-appearance of leaders IMPACT Reading.  The Cippenham team was Sylvana Bielec, Rebecca Tweedy and Caroline Linz.  For good measure the Girls' "D" team also won Division 2 with a team of Eleanor Tweedy, Jenny Hansell and Jhaapjeet Panesar.
 
Cippenham Super League 21.3.02
The chase for the championship of the Super League brought another twist tonight.  Holders and favourites London Progress were beaten 3-2 by a Robert Hansell inspired Karl's Lot.  Robert won both his singles and contributed to a doubles success.  Progress were left to rue the absence of their unbeaten star Jason Sugrue.  Earlier in the evening Progress had beaten Cippenham Knaves 4-1 while title contenders Cippenham Aces were successful by the same score against RAMS.
 
Leach and Hammersley Cups 17.3.02
Both Slough U14 teams reached the finals of their respective national competitions today, the boys finishing top of their Leach Cup group and the girls qualifying in second place from their Hammersley Cup group.
 
Awards to Mike and Ken 17.3.02
Cippenham honoured two of its outstanding stalwarts today.  Mike Rhodes, who is leaving the area shortly, was presented with a salver by the club to thank him for many years of fine service.  Then Mike and Club Chairman Ken Phillips were presented with the ETTA Maurice Goldstein Merit Award in recognition of their services to the Club, Slough League and Buckinghamshire County Association over a period of more than ten years.
 
British League 16-17.3.02
Cippenham II took a huge step towards securing second place in Division 3 South when they hosted the third weekend of the British League.  Three wins and one draw left the team three points ahead of third place with only two more matches to play.  Juniors Robert Lemon and David Hayes (on debut) were the most successful of the seven players used during the weekend.  The firs team played well but only won one match and had another awarded to them.  Defeats against the top two saw the team slip into third place in Division 1 South.
 
Cippenham Super League 7.3.02
London Progress took an immense step towards retaining their Cippenham Super League title tonight in a re-arranged match against table toppers Cippenham Aces.  Jason Sugrue won both his singles and the doubles to set up a 3-2 win for Progress.  Earlier Progress I had beaten Cippenham Kings 5-0, Aces had inflicted the same score upon Cippenham Knaves and Progress II had beaten RAMS 4-1.
 
National Championships 2-3.3.02
Cippenham's Gareth Herbert made up for the disappointment of his Men's Singles semi-final defeat to Alex Perry at the English national Championships to team up with new singles champion Andrew Baggeley in lifting the Men's Doubles title.  This is the third time in four years that Gareth has won this honour.
 
Junior British League 16-17.2.02
Cippenham's girls' A team, having been national champions for the past two years, had to settle for second place at Stoke this weekend.  Despite drawing with champions Grove and beating all the other teams, the loss to Grove in the first weekend proved the telling difference.  The other Cippenham teams had disappointing weekends and finished below their half-way positions.
 
Cippenham Veterans' 2-Star Open 3.2.02
Derek Holman won a classic Men's Singles final 11-9 in the fifth against his Graham Spicer and Surrey team-mate Steve Davis.  The women's event was won by Sharon Mitchell (Bk) over Mary Heffernan (Bu) while Cippenham's success was confined to Jan Chapman winning the Women's Consolation.
 
Carter Cup Stage 2 3.2.02
The Slough team, comprising Cippenham juniors David Hayes, James Milton and Sebastian Bielec successfully won through their group to qualify for the national finals of the Carter Cup (U17).
 
Slough Hard Bat Tournament 30.1.02
Club champion Mark Jackson showed that he is just as adept with the old-fashioned rubber bat when he won both the Singles and Doubles titles at the Slough Hard Bat.  In an interesting Handicap event, which was played under one of the variants of scoring from 100 years ago, 30-up, Mike Rhodes prevailed.  Another facet of the evening, timed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first tournament in Slough (10 February 1902) was an exhibition of equipment and other memorabilia from a century ago by Cippenham club Secretary Graham Trimming.
 
Women's British League 26-27.1.02
Another weekend, another title for triumphant Cippenham.  This time the Division 1 title in the Women's British League and, for Gemma Chapman, with 19 wins our of 20, the Player of the Weekend Award.  A great team performance from Gemma, Rebecca Fisher and Claire Plumridge ensured that unbeaten Cippenham gained promotion to the Premier Division, three points clear of the second-placed team.
 
Veterans' British League 19-20.1.02
For the second time in three years Cippenham are VBL Division 3 champions.  Without the unbeaten Clive Payne who was injured, Cippenham battled away and still finished six points ahead of the second-placed team.  Ken Philipson was drafted to the team in place of Clive and did very well, winning 7 out of 10 from the number two position.  Paul Baker also won 7 while Mike Rhodes won 5 as Cippenham won three and drew one of their five matches.
 
Cippenham Under-13/15 1-Star Open Championships 13.1.02
Sylvana Bielec was the home star, winning the U13 and being runner-up in the U15 girls' singles events.  Other winners of the events were Greg Boone (U15B); Olga Ivanova (U15G) and Alex Jones (U13B).
 
County Championships Junior Div 1b 12.1.02
Bucks junior second team had another successful day at Cippenham on Saturday, winning two and drawing one of their three matches.  James Milton and Gavin Evans were the most successful players winning all six of their matches while David Hayes lost only once.  Wins against Berkshire and Glamorgan II and a 5-5 draw with Kent put Bucks in third place just one point behind the joint leaders who have yet to play one another.
 
National Junior/Cadet Trials 5-6.1.02
James Milton was Cippenham's star performer at the national trials, finishing third in the cadet boys' event.  Gemma Chapman was fifth in the junior girls while David Hayes finished eighth in the cadet boys.
 
European League 18.12.01
England beat Netherlands 3-2 tonight in the European League Women's Division 1 at Cippenham.  A win each for Nicola Deaton, Helen Lower and Katy Parker secured victory for the home team before an enthusiastic audience of over 100. The Club wishes to thank all of its members who staffed the premises in the daytime and evening and contributed hugely to a successful occasion.
 
Award for Peter Hillier 16.12.01
Club Treasurer was today awarded a salver in recognition of his 25 years of unbroken service to the Club is which he has served as Chairman from 1975 to 1980 and Treasurer from 1980 to date.  Peter, who is a Life member of the ETTA after being its Treasurer for 10 years, is one of the hardest working members of the Club's management team and the award was richly deserved.
 
Cippenham Junior 3-Star Open 16.12.01
Both finals were contested by two Cippenham players in this annual event.  The Boys' Singles was won by Robert lemon, beating John Camilleri while Gemma Hollett secured the Girls' Singles with a final victory over Emily Tucker.  For good measure the consolation events were also won by Cippenham players in Gavin Evans and Sylvana Bielec.
 
British League 15-16.12.01
Both Cippenham teams kept up the challenge in their respective divisions and both are in second place after the second weekend series of matches.  The first team, playing in Cornwall in Division 1 South, won two and lost two while the second team, in Essex in Division 3 South, won three and lost one.
 
National Junior League 15.12.01
At the half-way stage Cippenham's boys' teams finished third and seventh in the top division while in the girls' section our teams are placed second and fifth.  Best performances in the first half came from Dorian Robinson (95%), Rebecca Tweedy (86%) and Sylvana Bielec (81%)
 
Bucks Closed Championships (Senior/Veterans events) 9.12.01
Five of the six titles contested at the Bucks Closed were won by players from Cippenham.  The new Men’s Singles champion is Stephen Munson who competes in the Cippenham Super League for RAMS.  The final was a close affair between Steve and Warwick-based Mark Jackson who turns out for Cippenham Rogues in the Slough League.  Steve and Mark also opposed each other in the final of the Men’s Doubles with a similar result.  Steve, partnered by Brian Savage, beat Mark and Mark Purcell in three close games. Mike Rhodes won the veterans’ double.  In the singles event he beat John Barclay and in the doubles he teamed up with Mike Atkinson to defeat Sue Hayes and Dave Wackrill. This marked another second place for Sue who was also runner-up in the Women’s Singles to her Cippenham team-mate Gemma Chapman.
 
ETTA County Championship Junior Division 3d 8.12.01
Bucks Junior 3rd team made sure of the division title with three more victories at Cippenham and have now won all seven of their matches to finish at least three points clear of their opponents.  The 4th team also played well, winning two and drawing one and lie in fourth place with second placed Gloucester to play.  The winner of that match will secure the runners-up position.
 
Bucks Junior Closed 25.11.01
Cippenham players won 7 of the 8 events at the Bucks Junior Closed, the only event to elude the hosts being the U12GS and that is the first title not to come to Cippenham for six years.  Main winners were James Milton (JBS), who overcame Bradley Evans and David Hayes, Gemma Chapman (JGS), Bradley Evans (CBS), Sylvana Bielec (CGS) and Gavin Evans (U12BS).  The doubles events were won by Hayes/Milton and Bielec/Jenny Hansell.
 
Southern Region Final Trials 24.11.01
Cippenham players won all three events concluded at the regional trials today.  Winner of the Junior Boys' was David Hayes, while Gemma Chapman and Rebecca Tweedy (jointly) won the Junior Girls' and Cadet Girls' respectively.  Runner-up in the JB was James Milton and in the JG was Emily Tucker.
 
St. Ives Junior Team Tournament 17-18.11.01
For the third year running Cippenham teams won all three events at the annual St. Ives Team Tournament.  In the U17 event the Club supplied both finalists with a team of Gemma Chapman, John Camilleri and Stuart Tweedy beating a team of Robert Lemon, James Milton and Ross Drabble.  Gemma Chapman won the award for the Overall Girl Performer of the Day for the fifth consecutive year.  The U14 victors comprised the Evans brothers, Bradley, Gavin and Myles, while the U12 top team was Dorian Robinson, Melanie Farquhar and Rebecca Tweedy.
 
Veterans' British League 17-18.11.01
Cippenham's veteran men's team leads Division 3 after the first weekend's matches with a 100% record.  The team now looks firm favourite to return to Division 2 next season.  Clive Payne extended his career unbeaten run in the event to 30 matches while Paul Baker won 8 out of 10 and Mike Rhodes 6.
 
County Championships Junior Premier Division 3-4.11.01
Bucks, having to play without Bradley Evans who was away on England duty, had a bad time losing two matches and drawing with Devon.
 
County Championships 3.11.01
Bucks senior team won two matches, 7-3against Essex and 9-1 against Berks II.  Cippenham players Mark Jackson, Robert Hansell, Gemma Chapman and Emily Tucker featured well.  Bucks Junior III, comprised entirely of Cippenham members, defeated Essex III 7-3.
 
Cippenham 2-Star Open 27.10.01
Top seeds from Sussex, Ritchie Venner and Rose Rainton won the major titles at the Open, beating Chris Beckley and Laura-Anne Hall in their respective finals.  Best performances from Cippenham members came from Martin Adams (semi-final), Mark Banks (last 16), and Robert Hansell, who won the consolation.
 
National Cadet League 21.10.01
Cippenham Thrillers (Sylvana Bielec; Melanie Farquhar; Catherine Hayes) head the National Cadet League girls' section after the first round of matches at Chesham High School.  Cippenham Stars are third of the five teams.
 
Maidenhead Charity Handicap Tournament 21.10.01
Cippenham's David Hayes won the annual Charity Handicap Tournament organized by the Maidenhead Association at Cippenham.  IN a close final he eventually beat Keith Machin 21-20 in the third.
 
County Championships Junior Division 1b 20.10.01
Bucks Junior 2nd team lie in second position, behind leaders Kent, in Division 1b of the County Championships after the first series of matches played at Cippenham on Saturday.  A 5-5 draw in the first match against Sussex was followed by victories 7-3 over Gwent and 6-4 over Dorset.  The Bucks team comprised Cippenham players David Hayes, James Milton, Stuart Tweedy, Chris Hansell, Sylvana Bielec and Eleanor Tweedy plus Amy Taylor from Chiltern.
 
Junior British League 13-14.10.01
Cippenham Girls' "A" team suffered their first defeat in three years at the hands of Grove "A" late Sunday and so finish the first weekend in second place with a great deal to do in their quest to retain their championship.  Gemma Chapman and Joanna Parker both won 8 from 10.  Emily Tucker won one more than that as Cippenham's "B" team finished unbeaten in Division 1, but second to Seasiders on games difference.  This performance earned the team the award of "Team of the Weekend".  The Boys' "A" team finished a creditable fifth (out of eight) in the Boys' Premier Division while a young (including a 9-year old and an 8-year old) lie a good third in Division 1.
 
National Junior League 13.10.01
Rebecca Tweedy and Caroline Linz both returned 11 wins from 12 matches as Cippenham "C" got off to a good start in the National Junior League, played at Cippenham.  Only Rebecca's sister, Eleanor, managed to defeat them in the match against Cippenham "D".  The "C" team lie second in the division, three points behind Reading IMPACT.  The "D" team are 5th while the boys teams lie 4th and 8th.
 
Outstanding Contribution Award 11.10.01
Terry Boxall was the popular recipient of the Club's annual Outstanding Contribution Award for 2001, presented at the Anniversary Party tonight.  Terry's award was in recognition of the overall contribution he makes to the Club especially in the area of coaching and also as the electrician and handyman - in fact the very sort of multi-talented member a Club such as Cippenham has great need of.  The award was presented by Charles Mitchell in memory of his late wife Karen who was lost to the Club in early 2000.
 
Southern Region Junior/Cadet Preliminary Trials 23.9.01
Cippenham players filled the top three places after the conclusion of the Southern Region Cadet Boys' Trials, held at Cippenham on Sunday.  James Milton won the event and was followed by the Evans brothers Myles and Gavin.  Theirs is the only section so far completed but, at the half-way stage in the Junior Boys' section David Hayes is top followed by James Milton in second place.
 
Women's British League 22-23.9.01
Cippenham's women's team returned from the first weekend of the new Women's British League season top of Division 1 with an unbeaten record.  Number one player Gemma Chapman maintained her impressive recent form with a 100% record and she was well backed up by Becky Fisher, Claire Plumridge and Sue Hayes.
Bucks Junior Inter-League 22.9.01
High Wycombe "A" retained their title with a Cippenham-based team of Warren Brooks, Ross Drabble (who remained unbeaten) and Chris Hansell.  Slough "A" were second, represented by James Milton, David Hayes and Sylvana Bielec.  Slough "B" won Division B with a team of Sebastian Bielec, Caroline Linz and William Mitchell.
 
ETTA County Championship Junior Division 3d 15.9.01
Bucks Junior 3rd team made a stirring start to their campaign in the County Championships and lead Division 3D after the first series of matches. Despite being an under-17 event, it was 8-years old Gavin Evans who starred being unbeaten throughout the day.  The English National Under-10 champion started in the “D” team for the first match but was quickly promoted to the “C” team for the final two matches.  Evans was well supported by another quartet of Cippenham players, Chris Hansell, Ross Drabble, Sylvana Bielec and Rebecca Tweedy.
 
ETTA National Awards 8.9.01
Sue Hayes maintained the Club's tradition by gaining the ETTA Female Coach of the Year 2001 award, following Ken Phillips' success in the male event in 1999 and 2000.  The Club itself also picked up a runners-up award in the newly created ETTA PremierClub Excellence Club of the Year and Graham Trimming received a nomination for Press Officer of the Year.

Both Cippenham teams made a good start to the new campaign, each gaining six points from a possible eight.  The first team, comprising Mark Butler, Martin Adams, Clive Payne and Wesley Bush-Harris won two and drew the other two of their four matches in Division 1 South, played at Barnet.  The second team, re-introduced after an absence of two years, won three and lost one at North Essex.  The players for this team were Mike Rhodes, Paul Baker, Mark Jackson, Robert Hansell and Robert Lemon.  All nine players performed well, all winning at least half of their individual matches.
