Why Grange 57?

Quite simply because the authors, Graham Butterfield and Les Cousins, entered Grange in 1957.

Graham had been to Ryan Street Junior School and had arrived with the likes of Mick Whittingham, Ken Chadwick and Brian Leach.

Les had been a pupil at Grange Juniors along with many others, as well as living locally, and, therefore, the move was not quite as traumatic.

The aim of the website is to share the memories of those years at Grange, to find out how the intervening years have treated us and to put people in touch with former school friends. For those of us who stayed into the Sixth Form this year, 2004, of course, represents the 40th anniversary of our leaving.

The accuracy of the information at this stage is largely dependent on memory which, of course, is not what it was! Please let us know about any inaccuracies or gaps, particularly the names. Many thanks to David Mitchell for filling in some of the blanks that we had.
