Sixth Form Trip to the Lake District September 1963 Geography field trips were a bit of a novelty at Grange. This was organised by a Geography teacher whose name I have, sadly, forgotten. He took us for Physical Geography in the Sixth Form while Mr Cheetham, Head of Geography, took us for the rest. (If you know the missing name let us know, please.) I have a couple of photographs, below, from this trip. Does anyone have any memories of this particular trip? Please e-mail.
My own memories are of a mini-bus that would struggle to pass health & safety regulations - we nearly ran out of petrol at one stage and free-wheeled down the hills! We stayed in Stair, near Keswick, at a Holiday Fellowship hostel. Did lots of fieldwork and went to the pictures in Keswick.
