Grantham & district model aircraft society is a long running club from the early 1940s, we cater for all forms off aero modeling free flight, control line, radio control, round the pole, and indoor flying. Models range from peanut scale to turbine powered jets. We have two flying sites the primary being RAF Barkston Heath which is two miles south off Ancaster on the B6403, the second site is the Prince William Of Gloucester Barracks Spitlegate airfield which is two miles east off Grantham on the A52 / B6403 Junction.
Club Membership,
Membership is open to any person agreeing to abide by Club Rules and regulations, Also the B.M.F.A Safety rules and regulations, membership runs from the 1st off January each year until the 31st of December.
Membership Fees.
Senior membership £24, Plus £10 Joining Fee. Junior membership £10.
All membership applications must either include B.M.F.A fees or a copy off current B.M.F.A membership.
Training Scheme (RC Section)
Grantham Club has a long running and successful flight training scheme for new aero modelers to work towards B.M.F.A recognized standards. The club has both instructor and examiners who have worked with great success over the last few year so why not give it a try. Recently the club has also purchased transmitters and buddy leads for training members who are new to the sport. All radio control flyers must achieve at least a B.M.F.A "A" certificate before being allowed to fly solo. Any one interested in joining the RC Section is welcome to contact the club for advice before buying the model or radio equipment.
Indoor Meeting Dates
The indoor meetings at the Grantham Leisure Centre is Sunday 8th October, Sunday 19th November, Sunday 17th December, Sunday 21st January, Sunday 18th February, and Sunday 11th March.
All times are 8pm till 10.30pm. Cost is £4 per flier.
