The following concert programmes are currently on offer, costs and names of key personnel will change according to commitments, geographical location and client's specific needs. CONCERT PROGRAMME 1 The Four Seasons Director/Soloist - Roger Huckle This programme is very popular by candle-light, and the first half consists of popular baroque favourites. CONCERT PROGRAMME 2 Welsh Music Please see review printed in Welsh Music, and reproduced on the news page. The programme features music by Welsh Composers:- Daniel Jones (Oboe Concerto) Morfydd Owen (Threnody for Strings) Karl Jenkins (Passacaglia and Palladio) Mark Thomas ("Adagio for violin and strings", and "Return Journey") Return journey is based on the writings of Dylan Thomas (50th Anniversary of his death in 2003), commissioned by the International Year of Literature, and premiered in front of President Carter of the U.S.A. to great acclaim).
CONCERT PROGRAMME 3 Opera* Favourite moments from the world's popular Operas e.g. Madame Butterfly, Tales of Hoffman, La Traviata, La Boheme etc. This concert features two soloists and full orchestra. A chorus can also be integrated into the programme - this could be a local chorus done as an exercise in community involvement, or a chorus that has performed this type of concert many times with the National Chamber Orchestra of Wales could be provided.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 4 A Night at the Movies* An extremely popular concert featuring such favourites themes as :- Superman, Star Wars, Looney Tunes, James Bond, Friends, Wizard of Oz etc. This concert works particularly well in an outdoor setting.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 5 Baroque favourites The programme for this concert includes Brandenburg Concerti by J.S. Bach, and works by Pachelbel, Albinoni and Vivaldi.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 6 Valentine concert* A red rose is presented to every lady in the audience, and the programme consists of Romantic Favourites such as "Traumerei" by Schumann, "Siegfried Idyll" by Wagner and "Roses from the South" by J. Strauss.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 7 Gilbert & Sullivan Gala* A tried and tested favourite - featuring soloists famous for working in this genre. As in concert programme three - a local chorus can be utilised, or an experienced chorus can be provided. Programme includes wonderful moments from the ever popular Savoy Operas.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 8 Ballet Gala* Featuring four solo dancers this programme features favourite moments from popular classical ballets e.g. Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, La Gioconda etc. This is a project which can involve a local ballet or dance school, and in so doing nurture great community/educational involvement.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 9 Fire-works concert* What better for an outdoor concert than classic after classic, culminating in an explosive performance of Tchaikowsky's 1812 Overture.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 10 Candle-light concert This concert works well in a church or concert-hall setting. Programmes of baroque music - particularly those that include Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" are very popular, as is the music of Mozart.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 11 Celebrity concert The Orchestra has an excellent working relationship with a number of celebrity soloists e.g. Bryn Terfel, Jason Howard, Jonathan Carney, Rebecca Evans and Leah Marian Jones etc.. Concerts with these people can be arranged, but would have to be negotiated in accordance with their agents.
CONCERT PROGRAMME 12 Children's and Family concerts. Presented by a well-known children's entertainer - this concert features plenty of involvement, prizes, fun and a programme of easily accessible and popular music. * The services of an experienced broadcaster are available to introduce this concert if required. |
