Moved his family to the USA in 1904, believed to be the first and only Ecott's in the USA. His father Percy moved to the USA a few years later circa 1907.
Edith: Edith died in Nursing Home Pasadena California, her body was cremated and her ashes sprinkled in the mountains outside Las Vegas Nevada.

Barbara used to talk about how when she was a girl she would rather be playing with the boys climbing over the shed roofs than with dolls in fact she says she used to run down the hill from her house with her dolls pram and crash it into a wall at the bottom
She also spoke of her time at school and how she liked a boy called Billy Edwards, Billy had it all he was well off, good looking and had lovely long fingers useful as he played the piano. This friendship ended when Barbara had to change schools after pulling a girl out of the desk behind her and over her head, (the girl had been tormenting Barbara). So her mother moved Barbara to a different school closer to where they had moved to in Leyton.
