War Diaries 1940-4

The following diaries were made from letters sent home by Lt. J.P.H.Guy (my uncle) to his father during the Second World War. They formed two purposes.
1; they were letters home telling his folks he was ok.
2; As he says they would act as a diary, as if he was to keep one himself he would stop within a few weeks.

Hugh joined up at the outbreak of war he had been studying at Oriel College Oxford before this, I think the Norway campaign was his first experience of war.

Please remember when reading this that these are actual letters sent home by a soldier at war, and as such any abusive remarks must be taken in that context. He may have watered down some parts and some he may even have been exaggerated. The letters are as they were written with no censorship applied.
