George III King of England 1760-1820 married Charlotte daughter of the duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz

George III was twenty-two years old when he succeeded his grandfather. He was a man of blameless character but of narrow and obstinate mind. He married soon after his accession a German princess. The simple homely ways of the royal pair and the purity of their lives were a standing protest the profligacey, drunkenness and gambling which still disgraced the upper classes.

The treaty of Paris was signed by which the whole Eastern coast of North America.

In 1773 a number of men disguised as indians boarded ships in the harbour in Boston, in protest of the extortionate taxes, and threw the cargos of tea into the sea. This became know as the Boston Tea Party.
