We hope that you will find this site useful. It is intended to help people with oesophageal problems to find information, and to read about how other patients cope with their problems.

We have no sponsorship and are funded entirely from voluntary donations. We do not provide advertising space or advertisement links on this website. We have no paid workers, so our funding needs are minimal.

This website is provided by the webmaster free of charge, and the domain name is paid for out of HOSG funds. This costs around £10 per year. HOSG funds have arisen from holding stalls at local charity events, and we have also had kind donations from members.

We are a very small local organisation in the UK,and our main purpose is to support our local patients. However, the Internet has made it possible to be international and we do answer enquiries from people elsewhere.

We must remind you that we are patients rather than health care professionals, and therefore advise checking with your doctor before trying any of our tips.

Our Mission

We aim to help anyone with oesophageal problems.

More usually this involves people with oesophageal cancer, but many of our members have Barratt's Oesophagus, severe acid reflux and similar problems.

We provide moral support and tips drawn from our own experiences.

The Mission of this website is:-

  • To help anyone with oesopophageal problems by signposting the way to further information,
  • To provide the opportunity for those with oesophageal problems to contact the group.
