We hold meetings every two months usually in Willerby, on the west side of Hull. Each year two of these meetings are occasions when we meet for a meal together. We know how hard it is to dare to eat out after an oesophagectomy, and this is a good way to start. We all know exactly what it is like, in a way that no-one else ever could.

The meals are sometimes held on the North bank of the Humber and sometimes on the South.

ASPIRIN:

The press has lately hailed aspirin as a cancer preventative. However, further research is ongoing, which will indicate which people might benefit and which dosages would be the most beneficial. Aspirin can cause harm to some people. Please do not start taking aspirin (unless you need it for another condition) until more is known about this. (See information page)

Meeting dates:

Meetings, other than the meals, are usually held from 10am until noon, at the Willerby Methodist Hall, in the lounge.

There is free parking nearby, and some parking available next to the hall.

Next Meeting:

We enjoyed a lovely meal together at the Hope & Anchor at South Ferriby on Dec 10th. The food was good, though the portions a little over generous. It was a lovely clear day and we could see right across the river.

The meeting dates for 2012 are as follows:-

Feb 11th

April 14th

June 9th

Aug 4th

Oct 13th

Dec 8th

All are at Willerby Methodist Hall from 10am until noon,

EXCEPT for June and Dec which will be meals out together. The dates for these two sometimes need to be altered to fit in with bookings.

The meals are a great opportunity to eat out with others if you haven't dared to do this yet since your surgery.
