NEW CHURCH HALLS
THE CHALMERS’ SUITE
The New Hall Complex consists a large Hall (The
Chalmers Hall), a meeting room, the mezzanine area, the Minister’s room
(Vestry), Church Office, kitchen, and toilets. The first turf was laid in Spring 2007 and it was formally
opened on 20th August, 2008 by the Moderator of the Church of
Scotland the Right Reverend David Lunan.
It was designed in co-operation with Historic
Scotland and the C of S Artistic Committee.
It reflects the design of the original church and complements it
architecturally. The Architect was Fames F. Stephens, Stirling and the
main building was contracted to Hadden of Auchterarder. A
special design feature is the geothermic heating, consisting a ground source
heat pump and solar panels. The power
output of the heat pump is 24Kw, and of the solar panels 1Kw. The installers were Better Planet Ltd. and
Rayotec, at a total cost of £37,652.
Grants totalling £23,327 were secured
