May 5th.1750 On Monday last died, deservedly lamented by all his aquaintance, Mr.JOSEPH COOKSON, of South Shields. He was a considerable Glass Owner on this river, and has through his industry gained a handsome fortune in that business, which we hear, he has left in a judicious manner amongst his relations.

Aug.24th.1754 On Wednesday morning last, died at Tynemouth, Mr.ISAAC COOKSON of this place, Goldsmith; a tradesman of considerable note and of an unblemished reputation. He was a person of strict integrity and honour; of a peaceable and inoffensive temper and conduct; of great sobriety and temperance and of a very benevolent, generous disposition. As a parent and master, he was affectionate, kind and indulgent; and to all the offices of friendship ever inclined and ready. By his death, his family is deprived of a very agreeable head; his relations and aquaintances of a most serviceable friend; this place of a vaulable Townsman; and society in general, of a useful member.

Feb.24th.1759 A few days since Mr.GEORGE COOKSON, an eminent merchant in Penrith in Cumberland was married to Miss Jane Huddleston of Queen-square; a young lady of great beauty and fortune.

June 21st.1760 Died. Tuesday died in a very advanced age,Mrs.COOKSON, mother of John Cookson Esq. of Hanover-square.

Aug.9th.1760 Monday last died at Stockton, universally regretted, after a long illness, Mrs.COOKSON , wife of Robert Cookson Esq.

Aug.1st.1761 On Monday last died, greatly lamented, ISAAC COOKSON, of South Shields. In him the industrious poor have lost a great friend and benefactor.

Feb.16th.1765 Tuesday the lady of JOHN COOKSON Esq. was safely delivered of a daughter at his house in Hanover-square.

April 6th. 1765 Wednesday died at Sunderland, after a short illness, Mr.JOHN COXON, son to the Rev.Mr.Coxon, Rector of that place. This youth was endowed with every good quality that could render his life deservedly worthy of imitation and which makes his death universally regretted.

Aug.2nd.1766 A few days since was married at Chester-le-Street,Mr.FRANCIS COXON, a considerable butcher, at Chater's Haugh, to Miss Jenny Corby, of that place, with a fortune of 1,000 1.

May 23rd.1767 Wednesday was married at St.Johns, Mr.William Yielder of this town to MISS COOKSON, of Penrith, a most agreeable and accomplished young lady.

Sept.3rd.1768 Saturday was married at Penrith in Cumberland, Mr.Francis Hurry of Howdon Dock, near this town to MISS COOKSON, of Penrith.

May 20th.1769 Thursday was married at St.Johns, Samuel Castell Esq., an eminent banker in London to MISS COOKSON, daughter of John Cookson, of this town.

Oct.6th.1770 Last week died at Penrith, Mr.THOMAS COOKSON, son of William Cookson, an eminent linen-draper in that town.

Feb.29th.1772 Monday was married at All Saints, ISAAC COOKSON, of Hanover Square, to Miss Wilkinson of Pilgrim Street, sister to Christopher Wilkinson Esq., Sheriff of this town.

March 13th.1773 Tuesday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON Esq., of a son at his house in Hanover Square, in this town.

June 11th.1774 Last Thursday se'nnight, about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, Mr.WILLIAM COOKSON, an eminent grocer and dealer in spirits in Penrith, died in the 72nd.year of his age. He had been in trade upwards of 40 years, having brought up a large family in a genteel way, and acquired a competent fortune with a fair character. He was a tender husband, an affectionate parent and sociable companion.

Feb.4th.1775 Friday se'nnight died at Whittel, of a consumption, Mr.THOMAS COOKSON, third son of John Cookson, of this town and on Monday his remains were brought hither and interred in St.Nicholas's church.

Feb.25th.1775 Tuesday morning early, the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, was safely delivered of a son at his house in Hanover-square.

Nov.4th.1775 Died last week at Penrith, Mrs.MARY COOKSON, aunt to Mrs.Yielder of this town. She resided here many years and was much esteemed.

Jan.27th.1776 Died Tuesday at her house in Percy Street, Mrs.SARAH COOKSON, a maiden lady, sister to John Cookson Esq., of this town.

March 30th.1776 Lately by Mr.Archdeacon Blackburne, the Rev.Mr.Horne of Marske, aged 63 years, to Miss COOKSON, an amiable young lady with a genteel fortune (but see April 6th.)

Apr.6th.1776 The marriage of Rev.Mr.Horne of Marske toMiss COOKSON, (inserted in our last) taken from one of the York papers, proves to be false.

July 27th.1776 Birth. Wednesday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a son at his house in Hanover-square.

Aug.24th.1776 Died. Monday, after a short illness, Mr.WILLIAM COXON, one of the Land Waiters of this port and son of the Rev.Mr.Coxon, Rector of Sunderland. He was very attentive to his duty and much respected by his aquaintance.

Jan.4th.1777 Married. Wednesday at All Saints CAPT.JOHN COXON, of the Pearl, of this port, to Miss Crow, daughter of Capt.Crow, of this town.

Feb.8th.1777 Married. Tuesday at Chester-le-Street, Richard Ellison Jun., of Thorne in Yorkshire to Miss HANNAH JANE COOKSON,daughter of John Cookson, Whithill in the County of Durham.

Jan.17th.1778 Birth. Sunday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a daughter at his house in Hanover-square.

Feb.7th.1778 Married. Tuesday at Penrith, by the Rev.Mr.Cooper, Rector of that town, Mr.COOKSON, Merchant, to Miss Scott.

March 21st.1778 Died. Monday se'nnight at Mr.WILLIAM COOKSON'S in Penrith, Mrs.Wordsworth, wife of John Wordsworth, attorney at law in Cockermouth.

June 19th.1779 Birth. Yesterday se'nnight the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a son at his house in Hanover-square.

Oct.14th.1780 Married. A few days ago, at Chester-le-Street, Mr.Todd, agent at Lumley Castle, to the amiable widow COXON, of Sunderland, formerly of this town.

Jan.13th.1781 Birth. Sunday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a son at his house in Hanover Square.

Apr.21st.1781 Died. Last week at Penrith, in the prime of his life, Mr.JOHN COOKSON, an eminent Tobacconist & Grocer, much respected by a numerous acquaintance, who consider his death as a real loss to society, of which he was a very useful member.

May 25th.1782 Birth. Tuesday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a son at his house in Hanover Square.

Jan.18th.1783 Married. Wednesday se'nnight at Burmeton, Yorkshire, Mr.COOKSON, merchant, of Queenhithe, London to Miss Martha Tanfield of Cathrop-hall, near Ripon, Yorkshire.

Dec.20th.1783 Birth. Sunday the lady of ISAAC COOKSON, of a daughter at his house in Hanover Square.

Died. Wednesday, at his seat at Whitehill in the County of Durham, JOHN COOKSON, one of the proprietors of the Newcastle Bank.

March 6th.1784 Married. Tuesday se'nnight at St.George's, Hanover Square, London, JOHN COOKSON Esq., of the Middle Temple, second son of the late John Cookson, of Whittle in the County of Durham. to Miss Jane Reed, daughter of the late William Reed of Hallowell, in the County of Durham.

Oct.29th.1785 Married. Tuesday at Durham, Mr.John Hansell, only son of Mr.Andrew Hansell, coal-fitter, Sunderland to Miss COOKSON, near Durham.

March 4th.1786 Married. Saturday at Sunderland, Mr.John Smith of Bunker's Hill, near that town, coal viewer, to Miss COOKSON, daughter of Mr.John Cookson, supervisor of Excise and Surveyor of the port of Sunderland.

Died. Monday se'nnight at Penrith, Mrs.COOKSON, aged 72 years (mother of C.C.Cookson), highly esteemed through life for her many excellent qualities.

Nov.30th.1793 Died. Saturday se'nnight at Barnes in Surrey after a long illness which she bore with great fortitude and resignation, Mrs.COOKSON, relict of John Cookson, formerly of this town.

May 7th.1796 JOHN COXON, formerly servant to the late Sir Thos.Clavering, Bart. enters the Peacock Inn, on the Quay.

May 5th.1798 Died. On the 20th.ult.at Exeter, aged 24 years, Mr.RALPH COXON, son of Mr.Henry Coxon of Howbalk, near Whittingham, Northumberland.

Aug.25th.1798 Married. A few days ago in London, Mr.THOMAS COOKSON of Kendal, manufacturer to Miss Mitford. And at Kendal, Mr.WILLIAM COOKSON, (his brother) to Miss Yeates of the same place.

Oct.6th.1798 Died. On Sunday last, Mr.COXSON, a respectable farmer at How-Bark, near Whittingham.
