My interest is in two lines of the COXON name, as they intermarried in 1793 in Felton. Isaac COXON son of Henry COXON and Jane SUTHREN of Edlingham, married Eleanor COXON daughter of William COXON and Susannah MATHER of Overgrass Mill, Felton. They had 8 (or 9) children, all born at Stanton Mill. Their son Isaac COXON married Ann JOWSEY at Widdrington in 1830. Isaac and Ann's daughter Ann Isabel COXON married Henry TARBIT at Newcastle St Andrews in 1863. My maiden name is TARBIT. Henry TARBIT and Ann COXON were my GGrandparents. They lived at Heddon-on-the-Wall where Henry was a joiner at Throckley Pit.

STOKER WILSON
My link with the COXON family of Northumberland goes back through my mother, Annie COXON. Her father, Robert and grandfather, John, take us back to the COXONs who lived in Coquetdale in the 19th.century. I am interested in following up branches of this family and would be happy to correspond with others with an interest in the same family. My website is at www.stokerwilson.me.uk

I am searching for any records/info relating to the following line:THOMAS COXON (roadmaker), born about 1784, OLD TOWN, Northumberland. Presbyterian records of Glanton show him married to Isabella and residing Bursary Hill. Their son THOMAS COXON, born Jan.19th.1828, Eglingham, NBL married to Jane Atkinson (sp?), born about 1827 in Thompson's Mills. Thomas's occupation was a roadmaker. Their son GEORGE COXON, born Sept.23rd.1863, Eglingham, NBL, died 1933, brd.East Templeton, Quebec, Canada married Eleanor Scharf, born Dec.12th.1875. This GEORGE COXON was my great grandfather and I have fairly complete family tree from this point on for his direct line. I was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and now reside in Newmarket, Ontario. I would most appreciate any info regarding my English ancestry with respect to birth, marriage, death and any other related info.

My great, great grandparents are William Hately, born in 1796 in Belford, Northumberland, England and Mary Coxon, born 1799, Brandon, Northumberland, daughter of William and Ann Coxon. I have yet to find the marriage of William Hately and Mary Coxon, but their first child, Thomas, was born in 1825 in Belford and the 1841 census of Belford shows William Hately and wife Mary as married. William and Ann Coxon's other children were Walter, born 1796, Hannah, born 1797, John, born 1802 and Mark, born 1803 (all in Brandon). William Coxon died at Overgrass, aged 81 years in 1845 and his wife Ann Coxon, died at Overgrass, Swarland, aged 93 years in 1867. I am looking for any information regarding the marriage of William and Ann Coxon and any other children of this marriage.
