The Ark
The Ark is an independent arts organisation for people with learning difficulties, founded twenty years ago in Bracknell by Penny Sanderson. The Ark pioneered the use of multi-sensory theatre as a means of facilitating communication, and social and personal development in people with learning difficulties.
Every week we built an environment for creative exploration, in our studio theatre. I documented these environments for the last five years I was at The Ark, and this is a small sample of the 120 or so workshop settings we created during that time.
