Narroways News Archive
The number of bats seen tailed off rapidly after July and just one seen on the 6th August over the Church Field. There seem to be lots of Frogs around - we uncovered some on Narroways during the hay cutting and some have been seen in allotments and back gardens nearby. Some Common Lizards have been seen on sunny railway embankments. A Green Woodpecker has been heard a lot at Narroways and a Sparrowhawk was seen over Mogg Street. It is the butterfly season with Commas, Common blues, Cinnibar Moths and Speckled Wood ( I saw half a dozen on the short walk along the stoney path). Stag Beetles may have been seen near The Orchard and I heard first chirring of crickets this year on the 23rd July.
