There will be a wildlife review of 2004 available at the AGM on 17th January (see above) but some highlights have included the numerous sightings of Sparrowhawks in the area. We had an introduction under licence by English Nature of 294 Slow Worms from a site threatened by development.
There have been more fox sightings as well - a family of 5 were seen on the embankment. Numerous bird sightings as usual - including first local record for a Grasshopper Warbler. Also Golcrest, Bullfinch, Redwing, Green Woodpecker, Kestrel and Whitethroat amongst others.
Remember we produce quarterly email reports of wildlife sightings on Narroways and district. If anyone would like to be put on the mailing list or have any local wildlife sightings to report please contact us at narroways@netscape.net
