COKER [See
Photograph] [Parents]
|
was born in about 1841 in Tring,
Hertfordshire. He worked as a Boiler Maker and married Sarah Ann Woolhouse on 24th
December 1866 at St.James Church, Doncaster, Yorkshire. Elizabeth Ann Coker's birth
certificate gives her mother as Sarah Ann Bean, so perhaps George remarried before 1870,
although I have been unable to find the certificate. They moved to Deptford about five
years later, and had at least five children. |

was born in about 1832 in

He was a Farmer of 30 acres and employed one man. |

ANDERSON |
was born in about 1847 in Dover,
Kent. He was a Wharf Labourer and they lived in Southwark. He married
Catherine and they had at least five children. He is not shown with the family on
the 1901 Census. |
| 29. Catherine HASTINGS [Parents] |
was born in about 1854 in Newcastle
upon Tyne. From the 1871 Census it appears that her older brother Peter was born
Ireland in about 1849, so the family must have moved to England in the early 1850s.
In 1871 Catherine and her younger sister Ellen were working at the Marine Stores, and
living at Eddy's Entry in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her brother Peter was a Moulder in
1871 and a Fire Brick Maker 10 years later whilst boarding with the Quin family in
Bedlington, Northumberland. |
[Child]
| 30. John
BARRY [Parents] |
was born in St.Olave, London in
about 1859. The 1871 census shows him as a 12 year old employed as a fur worker and
living at 11 Bull Court, Tooley Street, Southwark. His future wife Catherine Curran
and her family are shown living next door! In 1881 John was a labourer aged 22 and
still living with his parents at 127 Snowfields, Bermondsey. On 5th August 1883 he
married Catherine Curran at the Church of Our Lady in St.Olave. He was living at 127
Snowfields and she was living at Green Bank, Tooley Street. The witnesses were
D.Barrett and M.Barry. |
| 31. Catherine CURRAN [Parents] |
was born in St.Olave, London in
about 1858. She was a scholar living at 12 Bull Court, Tooley Street in 1871.
By 1881 the family were living at 2 Magdelen Street in Southwark and she was working as a
fur puller. She married John Barry in 1883 and they went on to have at least four
children. In 1891 they are shown at 18 Gibbons Rd(?), Southwark and by 1901 they had
moved to 1 Melior Place, Rotherhithe. |
