My great great grandfather was
born on 17th December 1863 at High Street, Gillingham. He was a dockyard worker for a number of years:- 1877 - Hired Boy (in Dockyard), 1882 - Hired Ord. Labourer (in
Dockyard), 1891 - Skilled Labourer Ship, 1896 - Skilled Labourer in Dockyard, 1901 -
Skilled Labourer Machinest (in Dockyard), 1905 - Established Machinist (in
Dockyard). He married Amy on 19th October 1884 in Brompton, Kent. He died in
1925 and was buried 31 October 1925 in Grange Road Cemetery, Gillingham, Kent. |

My great great grandfather was born on 20th January 1868
in Tremeyrick Street at Pembroke Dock in Wales. He joined the Royal Engineers on 8th
September 1887 as a Sapper and was described as 57" with brown hair, a fair
complexion and blue eyes. He met Paola Vassallo while stationed at St.Francis Barracks in
Malta and they got married on 17th October 1891 at Floriana, Malta. The
passport for their return to England was issued at Malta on 24th October 1894.
He served for 18 years and on discharge from the Army was noted as a "very superior
boat builder, thoroughly reliable and trustworthy in every way". |

My Great Great Grandfather was born
in about 1857 in Corfu possibly of Greek or Armenian descent. He travelled to India with a tobacco trader - Demetrius Macropolo,
and possibly worked with boats on the River Ganges. He
married Madeline FARAGE. He died on 5 Dec 1920 in Bombay whilst working as a Driver, and
was buried the next day at Lonavla in connection with the Church of Rome. |

My Great Great Grandfather was
born on 31st October 1852 at Stradishall in Suffolk. He married Sarah Ann
Freeman on 24th April 1876 at the Parish Church in Pampisford whilst he was
working as a Butler and she as a Domestic Maid. They moved to Deptford and by 1881 he was
working as a Ticket Collector on the Railways and they had three small children. By 1891
they were living in Strood, Kent, while he worked as a Railway Guard. Out of the first
three children, only their eldest child had survived, and they had gone on to have four
more. |

born in about 1852 at Pampisford in Cambridgeshire. She
was working as a Domestic Maid at the time of her marriage to William in 1876. |

My Great Great Grandfather was born about 1852 at Llanddeiniolen, Caernarvon in Wales. He
married Ellen and possibly lived in Ireland for a while. In 1881 he was a police
constable in Llangelynin, Merioneth. They had seven children and by 1901 he was
working as a blacksmith. He died before 1940. |

My Great Great Grandmother was born about 1856 in Llanddeiniolen, Caernarvon in Wales. She died in childbirth with her daughter, also called Ellen, in the
mid-to-late 1890s. |

My Great Great Grandfather was born to Charles and his wife in about
1865. He was working as a Dyer at the time of his marriage to Emma Simons which took place
on 15th December 1889 at St James Church, Shoreditch. They had at least 5
children Alice the eldest (born in 1890) ,Thomas (who died in the First World War),
Rose, Louise, and the youngest - Albert born in 1900. His wife Emma died in 1906 in
Shoreditch, whilst he was working as a Gas Fitter, and it is possible that he remarried.
It is thought that he died in 1917 in Tottenham, whilst working as an Engineers
Fitter. |

My Great Great Grandmother was born in about 1866 and worked as a
Fancy Paper Box Maker with her older sister Sarah between
1881 and 1889. She died on 9th
October 1906 at 48 Wenlock Road, Shoreditch. |

My Great Great Grandfather was named Arthur Leonard Callaway when he
was born in about 1880 in Portsmouth. He gave his name as Leonard Arthur Callaway when he
married Florence Edith Mears on 6th June 1905 at the Parish Church, Portsea
whilst working as a Seaman. In 1909 he was serving aboard HMS King Edward VII. He was
widowed in 1932 and went on to marry twice more before his death in 1963.
