Recently Refurbished Hensen
( Details to follow )

I have recently found out that there is another Hensen coming up for sale. This has recently had some work done on it, but I am as yet unsure to the extent of this work, and wether it is actually road-worthy or not. As soon as I know I shall keep you informed, along with some piccies. Watch this space.

Spare Hensen Body Parts
( All proceeds to the running of the owners club )

I have acquired the very last body-shell complete with the main part of the chassis in the interests of the club. Bonnet, boot, door panels and rear bulkhead are all present and the roof has been pre-cut for a sunroof. The rear-quarter lights have been cut out - and an added feature is the cut-out in the rear downward sections each side of the boot. Obviously an attempt to improve rear vision - although a matter of personal taste (not my own!).

This is the very car that ruined the moulds on production. It would appear from looking at it that it was stuck in the moulds once cast (not enough - if any - releasing agent on the moulds prior to casting). On getting the car out of the moulds it quite literally must have ripped the mould to bits - and in the process left parts of the car behind!!

Although in a poor state it is quite restorable with a little time and patience as a whole. However if any club member has met with "an accident" so to speak (un-heard of I know but it can happen?!) I am quite prepared to cut up the shell and supply the necessary parts.

Incomplete Hensen Project For Sale
( Unedited in Guy's own selling spiel )

The car has featured in Which Kit? magazine for the past six years in a series of reports (written by myself) charting the car's progress from complete pig to fully sorted car now painted matt black. All of the dodgy stuff inherent in Hensens has been sorted. Between sponsors and myself, some £11,000 worth of spare parts have gone into this semi restoration / redesign project. Anything that could be restored has been. The car has a COMPLETELY new electrical system throughout. Even the smallest switch is new. Every single nut / bolt / washer on the car has been replace. Stainless (Allen socket) fasteners were used throughout except in highly stressed areas. Absolutely ALL of the running gear / steering / suspension / drive has been fully restored with brand new parts. In the majority of cases original but unsatisfactory parts were redesigned.

For example:

The dodgy steering linkage between the steering shaft - rack and pinion was replaced with a specially commissioned shaft.

The cut and shut prop shaft was replaced with a properly designed shortened item.
Every fluid carrying pipe is a specially designed stainless steel braided hose supplied by Goodridge. Fittings are either stainless steel or anodized alloy.

Brand new alloy dash with brand new instruments throughout.
The interior features a specially commissioned high quality carpet set by Autostyle. This extends to the rear parcel shelves.

A specially fabricated ten gallon alloy fuel tank resides in the center of the boot. It sits firmly in a steel cradle frame. A Goodridge aero-style filler cap is linked to the tank via Saab alloy pipe work.
The ugly boot hatch has been ditched for an alloy fluted cover.

The unobtainable Ford Granada lights have all been replaced with easily found Ferrari style items.
Seat belts are four point harnesses. The driver's is a quick release turnbuckle affair.

Suspension units and springs are specially made items lowered by 40 mm. Dampers are adjustable.
The ugly and rust prone Wolfrace wheels were dumped in favor of brand new Ford alloys.

Electronic ignition is supplied by a Lumenition high performance contact-less system. It features a fully adjustable rev limiter and safety cut outs.
A cable operated halon gas fire extinguisher resides under the bonnet. A hand held extinguisher resides under the driver's seat.

Luxuries include an expensive Pye quad speaker stereo system, a ram air conditioning unit, passenger reading light and a driver's map light.

The car is powered by a 3.1 litre Ford Essex V6 engine with, I'm told, Westlake heads, Kent fast road cams / followers, steel timing wheel, K&N air filter. According to the previous owner of the engine it was rebuilt 30,000 miles ago. The gearbox is a freshly rebuilt four speed item. The clutch is brand new. The gear shift is a short shift Flowtech item.

The car is fully under sealed with a very durable rubber coat to deaden sound and prevent rust.

The nose cone of the Hensen is originally filled with a solid foam material. This has been removed in my car and turned into a bonnet compartment a la Porsche. Things that generally clutter the engine bay are hidden within this compartment. The structure was braced for strength.

By using aluminum sheet and Perspex throughout the car has been substantially lightened over the original

This is practically a brand new car worth around £14,000 in parts. I'm giving it away at £5,000 in order to fund another project.
