TANGLEWOOD JIGSAW CLUB
The following puzzles are contained in
cotton bags stamped TANGLEWOOD JIGSAW CLUB with an address for a Mrs P Barclay
in Rutland. Probably Mrs Barclay ran the club and/or was the cutter. The bags
are also marked with the puzzle title, code number, size, and number of pieces.
Every piece has been painstakingly stamped on the back with the puzzle's code
number so if a piece went astray one could tell instantly which puzzle it
belonged to! These date from c1930.

The following puzzles from the private collection of the former owner of the
British Jigsaw Puzzle Library would have been kept in plain cardboard library
boxes (at present they are cellophane mounted on boards but can be dismantled
and boxed). Cut by A. Dinn of Spondon, circa 1920, for the British Jigsaw
Puzzle Library, they involve both interlocking and non-interlocking
(push-fit) styles, and often colour line cutting. Click to view
completed puzzle.
