Discover North Wales' Treasures on Foot 
It would be hard to find a better week of hiking for contrasts, views, sight seeing and the general chance to breath in the atmosphere of that peculiar mix of natural geology and man-made influences that make Snowdonia so special. There will be plenty of time to swim in mountain lakes, bird and flower spot and to picnic where views are best. 
Conway Castle 
Magnificent Walking Every Day 
During the week we'll be following ancient drovers' green lanes, old quarrymen and miner's paths and mountain tracks. The trek starts off by leaving Caernarfon's mighty castle and town walls to walk through stone-walled sheep farmland so typical of the area . The next day we go deep into the high mountains and climb Snowdon (3560 ft) itself with its fascinating glacier shaped landscape and high lakes. 

Through Snowdonia's Different Landscapes 
There follows a day over moorland with only the curlew, wheatear and meadow pipit for company and then one day through forests next to streams tumbling over waterfalls. Then we turn North to follow above the lush Conwy River as it meanders beneath the mountains to join the Irish Sea at Conway passing iron age hill forts and prehistoric remains.

We know that a hot bath or shower, a good meal and a relaxing evening are as important to a good holiday as the time spent with your walking boots on. So we've combed the area to find you the best possible places to stay combining atmosphere with comfort.

Your accommodation is of the same good quality and as varied as the walking. During the week you'll sample a range of North Wales' hospitality from a small country hotel through old inns to spotless friendly B & Bs. There'll be plenty of places where you can enjoy a roaring log fire, beautiful grounds or historic associations. We book single and 'en suite' rooms wherever they are available but cannot guarantee these facilities. 
Dolwyddelan Castle  Castles, History and Legends Galore! 
On this trek you'll be able to visit the finest historical attractions without sacrificing any walking time. Wales has the highest density of castles than any other place in the world! We start and finish at Edward I's famous castles at Caernarfon and Conwy and pass right by the two old Welsh castles of Dolwyddelan and Dolbadarn where the Welsh princes resisted the English might. You'll be walking through thousands of years of history as your route crosses prehistoric fortresses and burial chambers, old copper and lead mines and the slate quarries that roofed Britain's cities.
 
Trek Facts 
Walking: Moderate to strenuous. Up to 10 miles (16 km) and 1-3,000 ft. (300-1,000m) of ascent a day. Some rough paths. 
Accommodation: 7 nights in hotels, inns or B & Bs.
