By Air
You can fly to London (Gatwick or Heathrow Airports) or straight to Manchester airport. Times by road or rail are given below
By Road
The new A55 coastal expressway links Snowdonia with the historic town of Chester and the arterial motorways of the M6 and M1 for links to London and the Channel Ports and Tunnel. For a more leisurely, scenic drive, follow the A5 from Telford. The port of Holyhead connecting with Ireland is only an hour's drive away.
Good road links mean fast journey times by coach at surprisingly low prices. Convenient express services operate from London's Victoria Coach station and from almost all major towns and cities in England and Scotland. For further information call National Express on 0 + 44 990 808080
By Rail
There are express rail links with London (Euston Station) and Holyhead port. The Channel Tunnel provides a direct link from Paris to London and there are special fares linking from there to Manchester and the telephone number is 0 + 44 345 881881. There is also a railway station in Manchester Airport and the rail journey from here to Bangor (where we'll meet trains) takes just over two hours. For timetable information telephone 0 + 44 345 484950 or visit http://www.railtrack.co.uk/travel/
By Sea
Crossing to Ireland is easy with Irish Ferries (0 + 44 990 171717) running the Dublin to Holyhead service and Stena Line going from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire on (0+ 44 990 707070). The ferry takes three and a half hours and the Catamaran under two hours. The Channel Ports and Hull and Harwich are linked to the rail and motorway network.
