The Moelwynion and Cnicht - Wales' Matterhorn! No time to linger! Wednesday morning sees your bags stowed in the minibus again and we're off over Moelwyn Mawr (2527 ft), Moelwyn Bach and Cnicht to spend the next night in the pretty village of Beddgelert. This will once again be a long - but rewarding - day. Snowdon and the Glyderau After ascending Snowdon (3560 ft)from the pretty Nantgwynant valley and perhaps down along the knife edge ridge of Crib Goch. Thursday night you'll be ensconced in the Everest bar of the famous Pen y Gwryd hotel. Next day it's up once more to enjoy the lunar-type landscape and weird rock formations of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach followed by those other North Wales 3,000 footers of Y Garn and Elidir Fawr. Finally you'll walk back into the door of Tal y Waen to a warm welcome and a huge farmhouse tea before the celebratory supper where you'll get your well-earned certificate! |
| Trek Facts Walking: Strenuous. As much as 14 miles (25 Km) and 4,000 ft (1,500m) height gain in a day sometimes over very rough terrain. Trekkers must be fit with previous hill walking experience.
