Christmas stocking or New Year champagne in a tent on
Snowdon! Scrumptious Food & Great Walking High Trek has put together two five night/four day festive season packages that are really different! If you fancy working up an appetite with a great mountain walk during the day to enjoy plenty of festive fare, winter-warming drink and good company in the evening we may have something for you. A High Mountain Camp To ensure a really different end to 2000, we're offering the opportunity to wake up Christmas or New Year's day in a tent high on Snowdon! |
Stockings on Snowdon The
break will start with dinner Saturday 23rd December and  ends after breakfast on Thursday 28th
December. It costs £395 (plus insurance of £14 if
required.) The first day will be spent on a day walk as
we all get to know each other. Then on Christmas Eve
you'll pack your rucksack to spend the night on Snowdon*.
After opening your stocking in a tent on Christmas day we
climb to an unusually empty summit before trekking back
to Tal y Waen for the full festive feast in the evening -
everyone usually has a real appetite! Boxing Day will
also be a day walk. Apart from the camping night other
nights are enjoyed in front of the fire in the house.

Pop the champagne cork on Snowdon This
break will start with dinner Friday  29th December and finish after breakfast on
Wednesday 3rd January. It costs £395 (plus insurance of
£14 if required). Wednesday will be spent on a day walk
as we all get to know each other. Then on New Year's Eve
you'll pack your bags to spend the night on Snowdon.
After an evening swapping tales and jokes in the tent
we'll walk up to the summit to welcome the New Year in
from the highest point in England and Wales. Next
morning, after a lie-in and a good walk it's back to Tal
y Waen for a full festive meal. On Saturday we'll also
offer you a good day's walking. Apart from the one night
camping other nights will be spent here at Tal Y Waen.

| What does the Price include? All
accommodation, food, drink and festive treats. We also
include portage to the campsite, the loan of any
equipment needed and, of course, a marvellous guided walk
each day. If the conditions require ice axes etc. your
qualified winter leader will give you instruction in
their use. How fit do I have to be? The camping equipment and food will be taken up the mountain for you but you'll have to carry your sleeping bag, personal clothing and equipment-which can be quite heavy in winter. Therefore, to get maximum enjoyment out of this break, we suggest that guests are either experienced mountain walkers or fit beginners with plenty of stamina! Book Early! We only take six on each break so book early. Send us a booking form and £75 deposit (plus £14 if you want the insurance). We will acknowledge all bookings and send clothing suggestions and directions for finding us. The balance is due six weeks before the start. |
