The Bouzouki has the longest scale length of the family and is normally tuned GDAE, one octave below the Mandolin. It has a rich resonant sound due to the longer scale length ( 630-660mm.) and lower tension strings. These factors make the Bouzouki an ideal accompanying instrument although tunes can be played very successfully once the player is used to the extra scale length. |
