GCSE Geography Coursework
One piece of coursework makes up 25% of the mark in the AQA C geography course.
Only one piece means there isn't a second chance! Do it well and complete it as early as possible - this gives you time to get on with other things and to have your work read by someone...
The Report:
Your finished report needs to be handed in held together in some way, but not in a ring binder or with each page in individual plastic wallets. Make sure that your name is on it and that it gets given straight to me - don't leave it on a desk and expect it to be found.
The report needs to contain 5 sections:
- Introduction - setting the scene, locating Southwold and introducing the hypothesis.
- Method - what you did to collect data to test the hypothesis.
- Analysis - present the data you collected in lots of ways and analyse it by writing about it.
- Conclusion - bring it to an end: do you agree with the hypothesis or not - and why.
- Evaluation - what weaknesses were there and how could the enquiry be improved.

Hypothesis:
A hypothesis is an idea or a theory. You test the hypothesis to see if it's true or not. Choose carefully - the better your hypothesis the better your work is going to end up.
Here's a list of good hypotheses to choose from:
- Tourism is a good thing for Southwold
- Tourism causes major problems for Southwold
- The benefits of tourism in Southwold outweigh the problems
- Southwold would not exist without tourism
- Southwold is a successful tourist resort
