Unit 3 Outline - MEDC City Centres
The Central Business District (CBD) is the town centre. This is usually the oldest part of a town, but CBDs have changed a lot in recent years. They now have to cope with more traffic and deal with the closure of old industrial sites.
A lot of the work here deals with issues relating to brownfield sites.
Key Content:

- How can CBDs be managed?

Unit 3 links very well to Unit 4 - the pressures in the rural-urban fringe. In fact, I'd suggest you might want to revise the two areas together.
