"I wouldn't have missed it for a big clock." - Bernard Pearson (The Cunning Artificer) at the close of the 1996 Convention.
He didn't actually say this again, but it would have been
equally true if he had.
We had a great time, and it looked as if everybody else did too.
Looking forward to MilleniCon Hand and Shrimp.
Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures!
Each pic is 640x480, I've created a 160x120 thumbnail for each
one, click on the little one to get the big one (hur hur).
The filenames are as provided by the camera, and so aren't
terribly friendly, also they clash between the disks.
Some of 'em are OK, some are not so good. Take 'em or leave 'em.
Unfortunately I forgot to rotate the large portrait ones! Sorry!
If you do use or link to any of them we'd appreciate a credit. (Ian and Mandy Oldroyd)
For the gadget freaks, the camera is a Sony Mavica FD71. This takes 640x480 pixel pictures, and writes them direct to an internal floppy disk, as JPEGs. You get an average of 40 pictures to a disk in 'Standard' mode (which was used for all of these pictures), and 20 in 'Fine' mode. The difference is not easily discernible under normal conditions, but begins to show in low light (as in many of these pictures). At that time, I had only had the camera a couple of weeks. Now, with more experience, I use Fine mode exclusively, after all, how difficult is it to get more floppies?
