About us

Wellington and District Caledonian Society was founded in 1948. Following the incorporation of the old town of Wellington into Telford New Town, the Society's name was changed to Telford Caledonian Society.

Our members come from all parts of Shropshire, from Albrighton in the east to the Welsh borders, and northwards to Market Drayton. Links to other organisations involved in Scottish Country Dancing and other traditional Scottish activities, on the perimeter of our area, are provided.

Every Wednesday from September to May, a number of our members meet for dancing under the watchful eye of our Instructor (Tuition is available) - click on "Reel Club" for more details.

Other functions, such as our popular Burns Night and St Andrews Night are also arranged - click on " Functions".

Newcomers and visitors to the area are very welcome at Reel Club or other functions. It is advisable to telephone the Secretary, Chairman or other Committee member in advance.
