Itz4U - recommended PC and Internet magazines

If you've looked at the magazine racks in any good newsagent, you'll be over-whelmed by the sheer number of computer magazines! You're seeking guidance, advice and ideas, but which magazine should you buy?

There are poor magazines, good magazines and there are OK magazines, but it's the excellent magazines that offer good value for money, and with helpful content, we want to mention here

So, in our unbiased opinion, these are the magazines to consider or try:-

  1. Internet Advisor - designed to give maximum help & guidance for newcomers to the 'Net, this is a monthly mag that makes using the 'Net a joy. Each month it has a detailed 'Absolute Beginners' section that covers using your browser and E-Mail programs, step-by-step guides on how to send an e-mail, adding signatures to your mail, finding things on the 'Net with Search Engines etc etc. It details many web sites, and has articles covering anything & everything to do with the 'Net. Also comes with a CD full of very useful Internet software. Excellent value for money.. Ideal for newcomers! Few adverts!

  2. Quick & Easy Windows - the mag is designed as 'The complete beginner's guide to using your PC' as it says on the front cover! It offers jargon-free guides to most aspects of your PC, starting with the basics. There are regular step-by-step guides to using popular programs, using the Internet, using Windows itself, as well as advice and Q & A sections. Comes with a CD rom full of useful software, plus help on using it. Few adverts! Recommended.

  3. Computer Active - a fortnightly mag aimed at covering most aspects of computing, which are explained in simple, jargon-free terms. Ideal mag for newcomers wanting generalised information about their PCs..

  4. PC Answers - a monthly mag covering a wide range of topics in depth, yet  simple to follow. Encourages PC users to experiment with settings, tweaks, customisation etc. plus lots of 'How to ...' articles, Q & A section, and step-by-step guides on using popular programs, re-installing, trouble-shooting etc and much much more. A CD rom is included, which has a large number of useful programs & utilities each month. Few adverts!

NOTE: most of the above mags are available on subscription, often at up to 50% less than the shop prices quoted - and delivered to your door!
