Blue Max The Battle of Berlin, 1944 Competition Rules The standard BLUE MAX rules are used except as follows:- - The WWII variant rules apply. - Special heavy bomber rules will be played (see separate sheet). - VPs for American and German pilots are awarded separately (see below) and a prize will be given for the best American pilot and the best German pilot. - Players may play as many games as they wish on any or both sides - the best score counting for prizes. Forces ------ 2 B-17 or B-24 formations (umpire controlled) 2 USAAF fighters (players choice of P-51, P-47 or P-38) 4 Luftwaffe fighters (players choice of Me109G, Me110G or FW190A) Setup ----- Place the bombers near one table edge exactly 2 hexes apart. USAAF fighters setup within 4 hexes of any bomber. Luftwaffe fighters setup on any table edge at least 10 hexes from any enemy aircraft. The playing area should be between 20-24 hexes long so the bombers will exit the table (and the game will end) after 10-12 turns.
