Airedale & Wharfedale 20th Nov (teams).
As you may have noticed for the first time the White Rose Shopping Centre to whom we are very grateful has sponsored us for a gala.
We are currently organising a sponsored swim to raise funds for the club, which can be done either on a club night on Thursdays, or during training sessions, which ever is easier, if you have not received a sponsor form please see a member of the committee who will get one for you.
The committee would like to thank all the people who are helping to host our German swimmers and are sure the gala will be a great success.
We were unsuccessful in our effort to try and raise funds for the trip to Cardiff, but we will try to get there next year.
We had some queries about how the teams are picked for galas, the following applies, for the White Rose League the best swimmers possible will be picked, this will go on fastest times. For the Barnsley minors teams swimmers must not have finaled in the Yorkshires for the past two years, again teams will be picked on fastest times. The Leeds & District & the Airedale & Wharfedale Teams are chosen first from the swimmers who entered the individual races then if there are any places left, from others.
There are also two novice galas a year and the swimmers for this are chosen from the ones who do not ordinarily get to swim in a team.
Please do not forget to regularly update your swimming times, so that the fastest people get picked for the team races, just give your times to a member of the committee and they will get passed to the right person.
