Refurbishment

Web Site

Following the refurbishment of The Appletree,

we have decided that our website also needed a major overhaul.

Obviously because of this there is now very limited information on this site

The re-vamp is currently underway and we hope to be back up and running very soon.

Until then please telephone Tel: 01751 431457 with any enquiries

Refurbishment

We are now re-open again after our 'little' facelift, outside is still under construction, please don't let that put you off.

When you do arrive please don't talk to Jack, he's very easily distracted and we want him to finish!

The workhas basically involved reducing the size of the building to be a little more manageable, and also means that we will once again be able to utilise the building as a whole, something we haven't been able to do for a long time now, we do feel very strongly that this is the right direction to go in and hope you will all support our decision.

We have kept the same feel and look to The Appletree that we worked very hard to create, but the building itself is now smaller. We will have seating capacity for 24 in total but these are in nooks and crannies and not now in one main room. The maximum number we can take in a party will be 8, please do not beg, plead etc it cannot be any more than whatever the circumstances, TJ is alone in the kitchen and this the maximium we really can manage.

We have built a new kitchen, bar, beer cellar, rear entrance and toilets including a disabled one, the new entrance is of course wheelchair accessable as well.

We continue to serve lunch and evening meals Wednesday to Sunday as before, we will also have a couple of (non bookable) tables in a courtyard area outside for summer months (when it's finished!)

If you are interested you can view some of the refurb pictures we took while the work progressed, they are not up to date, if you want to know what the finished article is like, you're going to have to come and see us!

                  Warm Regards to you all

Report at the start of Week Two - a lot of holes, a lot of dust and a couple of missing roofs! We also have a very limited electrical supply, but (can you hear the relief) thanks to Mark our wonderful plumber we now have a working loo, which after a week was becoming quite necessary.

TJ is looking after the builders very well, so far they've had BLT's, Chocolate Mocha Tart, Doughnuts, Ham & Egg Sandwiches. TJ is also in charge outside and is busy with the help of Marge (my right arm out front) and Paula (my PA) in building raised beds for his herbs and vegetables at the moment.

I of course am doing absolutely nothing, as is my customary role! (Those that know me will appreciate my sarcasm there)

Best Wishes to you all, and watch this space         Melanie
