Following our successful venture into UK short breaks we have decided to extend this new aspect.
We have established a relationship with Brook Hotels and have this particular hotel on very good recommendation from friends who live in that area.
The hotel has a 350 year tradition. One mile from the centre of the town with the peak District on the doorstep, Chatsworth house and gardens nearby.
The hotel has an Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool - open May ‘til October. For the less adventurous there is an 18th Century natural spa - very therapeutic. There is a first class sauna, and tennis court for the more energetic!!! ALL FREE for guests, or just stroll round the magnificent gardens.
Other facilities include tea and coffee facilities in your room, trouser press and hair dryer, Wifi hotspots and Satellite TV (with Sky Sports).
CAR PARKING is FREE.
We will start after dinner on Friday evening, and hold further sessions Sat/Sun afternoon and evening. This will leave time to acquaint yourselves with the area in the morning. The Peak District is a wonderful area to explore.
Afternoons 2.00 - 4.30 (shorter session subject to demand) Dinner starts at 6.30 p.m. Evening sessions 8.00—11.00
We propose to hold a “Sim Pairs” session, with commentaries on the hands to be provided after the event.
Subject to numbers being suitable we will also try a teams event on the Sunday night (probably Swiss.) Duplicate Bridge will fill the remaining sessions.
