'Something from Nothing'; 3 tunes, one video. This piece follows one person; the mastermind behind putting a piece of rock music together, we follow his progress as he ropes musicians into playing along with him, building into a fast paced rock instrumental. From here the rhythm guitar forms the starting riff for a dub mix of the first tune at almost half the tempo. We follow as the tune is mixed and then pressed to vinyl. From there the only thing left is to do is to get the record to a DJ to play to in the right environment. The Mix gradually winds back up to a fast pace as the DJ cues the record and then just at the right point the final jungle mix is dropped. With a mixture of eccentric beats and rock guitar set to the club response and visuals, this mix finishes the piece.

*Not for those who can't handle strobe effects.

MUSIC; All mixes are completely original and were created especially for the video by the 'Squeak Farmer' who also plays the lead role.

The video is shot entirely in and around Derby apart from the record pressing which was shot @ Independent Pressing LTD of Nottingham.

Originally shot and edited on 16mm, post_meridiem has undergone a bit of a re-edit. In essence, it is a music video. Time lapse footage, predominantly shot at night, edited tightly to fast electronic music. As with 'Something from Nothing', the music was created by the 'Squeak Farmer', often compared to 'Square Pusher' through musical style. In its original state post_meridiem reached the finals of Nottinghams 'In the Frame' film festival, part of the 'Out of Sight' festival held in April at the Broadway Cinema. Since then, I have re-edited it digitally, giving it a little more life and making more cuts to the beat.

post_meridiem looks at movement with new relativity. It stands back to watch as everybody rushes about oblivious to everyone else - the everyday journey creating a fascinating visual element for the music.

At present I am working on an installation project which deals with the ways in which technology can be used to invade our everyday lives. It's due to be shown in June. For more details see http://www.443id.org.uk
