Frances Godden (1995-8) became the first female President of the
Association in 2005.

Internationally-acclaimed Colin Walsh is organist laureate of Lincoln Cathedral and an honorary vice-president of the Association.

Lincoln Cathedral choir rehearse for Christmas in 1939. Dr Gordon Slater ("Gassy") was the organist/choirmaster and Cliff Hewis--an Old Chorister--was his assistant.

* Dr Dennis ("Baggy") Townhill OBE later became organist and choirmaster of St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh. He died in July 2008, having been President of our Association and chairman of the Federation of Cathedral Old Choristers.

Lincoln Cathedral was once the tallest building in the world. 
The spires were removed in 1808 because they were dangerous.  A few years ago someone suggested applying for a grant from the National Lottery to have them rebuilt, but his idea came to nothing.
