When we had a photo taken of our centenary reunion in 2006 you couldn't see half of the people who were present. So much for progress...

Reg Woodward said that Dr Bennett would frequently fly into a rage and that he would give a boy a good hiding.  Once he beat the wrong boy by mistake and when this was pointed out to him he fell silent, and then, roaring with laughter, said "Well, it will do for next time."

In those days choristers came from far and wide and boarded in the house at the junction of Northgate and Nettleham Road. 

Ron Whitby (1943-50) has sent us this photo of Dr Gordon Slater conducting the choir in 1947.  The four cope boys were two sets of identical twins--David and John Taylor (1940-8) and Michael and Peter Rushton (1941-9).
