There are various methods in attempting to gain information on veteran members of Airborne Forces. None guarantee success and all can be time consuming and frustrating.
The Pegasus Journal, magazine of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, is published and delivered Winter, Summer, with a year book out in Spring. Within its pages there is a section called "Can You Help". This section is extensively used by relatives, friends and comrades alike in an effort to establish whereabouts or information on living/deceased ex-members of Airborne Forces. As the magazine is widely read by ex-members in and outwith of the Association Branches. It could be the ultimate selection in the quest for information. The Lothian Branch can only assist if there is a query about a unit in which one of our own members has served. The magazine also gives the latest information on the three Regular Battalions, the Territorial Battalion, 16 Air Assault Brigade, Supporting Arms, latest news from Branches within the Association and more. It is extremely good value and a must for keeping up to date with British Airborne Forces.

The Lothian Branch does not have the contact names and addresses of the many other Association Branches throughout the United Kingdom. The geographical location of these can be obtained by entering the Parachute Regiment site and going to the Association pages. A new database has also just been started and looks to be a success this can be accessed at Para Database this database is in its infancy and reflects, at the moment, mainly the younger guys out there! For older veterans you can try a search at the Airborne Forces Museum website which can be accessed through the Parachute Regiment site. This search currently costs £15. Finally for queries on all veterans subjects, ie records, medals, etc., use the advice and links on the MOD Veterans Agency
