In 1956 a wireless
was delivered to the school and in 1955 electric lights were installed.
This is an extact from
the school Log Book following the heavy snow in 1963;-
“The village of Moylegrove
was completly isolated by the blizzard, and by 8th of February the
village bread supplies had been completly exhausted, and the villagers
only link with the outside world was the telephone.
On 7th of February a
call for help was put through to St Dogmaels Police station. The
Police Officer thought of an idea of supplying the villagers by
either boat or plane. A request to Col. C. Ward, Aberporth, brought
a quick response, and a large rubber dingy, equipped with a 45.
h.p. engine was loaded with 150 loaves of bread, some tea and sugar.
Col. Ward took the craft
round the headland to Ceibwr Beach where a large number of villagers
were waiting”
