Coastal Path

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path was opened in 1970 by the aclaimed author and broadcaster , Wynford Vaughan Thomas. The footpath which is 180 miles long, starts at Poppit north east of Ceibwr and follows the coast to Amroth in South Pembrokeshire. The coastal path meanders through Ceibwr and Witches Cauldron. It is perfect for viewing the unspoilt cliffs and the varied nature . Care is needed when walking along the path as some of the cliffs reach over 500 feet above sea level, and most of the path is unfenced.

The constant passage of walkers
clearly marks the footpath. Erosion of the cliffs constantly changes the course of the path, which is diligently maintained for the walkers safety. by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park,

Moylegrove School Pupil, Rory, took this photograph of Carreg Wylan, which means Seagull Rock, during a winter storm.

Ceibwr Bay is  very exposed to   Atlantic weather.

Often the sea is calm and a tranquil shade of blue/green, but during a storm in the winter months the raging waves lash the cliffs and the sea turns a steely grey.
