Celebrations in Moylegrove Golden Jubilee celebrations were kicked off in Moylegrove last Friday afternoon (31st May) when Sue Jenkins, church warden of St Andrews Church, organised a Jubilee Party for the pupils of Moylegrove School Before the party Rev. Dorrien Davies, vicar of the parish, showed the children around the church and talked to them about Queen Elizabeth II. He said “To remember 50 years of the Monarch’s reign is part of communal pride and a joyous occasion” Fun and games followed in the Church Hall with entertainment provided by David Moss’ Disco and a celebratory picnic tea party held in the Old Vicarage garden. The afternoon was rounded off with the Rev. Davies presenting each pupil with a Jubilee Mug. This was with thanks to the generous contributions of church members and the local community. When interviewed after the event he said “I hope that in the next few months we will be able to celebrate a bright and valued future for Moylegrove School - Hopefully this will be a truly celebratory year. Maybe the resurgence in national pride will encourage the nation’s communities to pull together, for an inclusive society, looking forward to another golden age ahead” |
