Awê ar y We……. Gan Siân Evans

Mae'r we, neu'r 'world wide web', yn dechrau dod yn rhan annatod o fywyd y mwyafrif o bobl sy'n gweithio. Mae i fod yn hwyluso gwaith rnewn swyddfeydd, siopau a hyd yn oed ar y fferm os mae fiy nhad i'w gredu!

Yr un yw'r stori yn ein hysgolion, gyda llawer o ddisgyblion yn fwy hyderus na' u hathrawon ar y cyfrifladur. Mae nifer yn defnyddio'r we i gadw mewn cysylltiad â ffrindiau, gwneud ffrindiau newydd a chwilio am unrhyw .ffeithiau a gwybodaeth a ellir eu helpu wrth eu gwaith ysgol.

Yn sgil y cynnydd yma o ddefnyddio'r we mae nifer o ysgolion wedi creu safleoedd gwe eu hunain a dyma r’ai ohonynt i chi.

Mae bob ysgol uwchradd yn Sir Benfro, a rhyw 15 ysgol gynradd ar y rhestr. Dwi wedi canolbwyntio ar ardal Abergwaun a Crymych felly dyma rhai o'r cyfeiriadau i chi. Away on the internet……by Siân Evans

The internet or the World Wide Internet is beginning to become an essential part of the lives of most people who are working. It makes work easier in offices, shops and even on farms if my father is to believed!
The same is the story in our schools, with many pupils more confident than their teachers with the computer. Many use the internet to keep in touch with their friends, making new friends and for finding information to help with their school work.
As a result of this technological development a number of schools have created their own web sites.

www.pembschool.org.uk will take you to the sites of all the schools in
Pembrokeshire  that are on the internet. It must be said that there are less than expected considering the stress the county and the government have attempted to put on developing this new technology.
All the Secondary Schools in Pembrokeshire and some 15 Primary Schools are on the list but I have concentrated on those in the Fishguard and Crymych area.

I enjoyed visiting Fishguard High School's site although there is some work to be done on it yet. It is a shame that no Welsh has been included on it when you consider that it is the creating not the translating that is the difficult part.

visitors;- there are many notes and reminiscences to browse through.

Ysgol Dewi Sant's web site is more like a school handbook. Again it is only in English. It needs more input from the pupils to give the site more of a personality in my opinion. Decide for yourself by typing in

We will have to wait for a while to see what they have to offer us.

Ysgol Clydau are on the internet by now too , but is seems that they have
adopted Ysgol Tegryn's site. The site is interesting, but again only in
English and it needs to be updated . Look for yourself on www.northpembs.co.uk/school  

I have kept the best until last. In my opinion Ysgol Trewyddel's web site is excellent and worth a visit. Colourful, bilingual, and shows the school at its best;- you need to visit - www.pembschool.org.uk/trewyddel They have included information about the school, diary, photographs and the children's work. Very interesting. This is the standard that other schools should aim for!!
