The Chichester Singers are an established part of musical life in Chichester and West Sussex, having celebrated their 50th anniversary some seven years ago. The choir performs under the musical direction of Jonathan Willcocks, one of the UK’s foremost choral conductors and composers.  We have over 140 singing members and our repertoire includes a broad range of music from the great choral classics to contemporary works, performed with first-class professional soloists and orchestras.

We currently work with Southern Pro Musica.   Most of all, we enjoy our music and want to share that enjoyment with our audiences and members, who come both from the city and further afield.

All our major concerts are in Chichester Cathedral, the most recent being our performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in June (see Reviews page).

We have regularly taken part in the Chichester Festivities during the summer, and last year we gave a performance in the Autumn Festivities of Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony no.9 - the Choral Symphony.

During the past 15 years we have been visiting European cities for short concert tours.   These have included Paris, Chartres (with which Chichester is twinned), Belgium, Ravenna (another Chichester 'twin') Padua, Budapest, Dubrovnik and Montenegro

We much enjoyed our tour to Malta and Gozo last May, which included concerts in the beautiful St John’s Co-Cathedral (pictured below) in Valletta and also Gozo Cathedral.

The choir's first CD, featuring Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Dvořak's Mass in D is now available on the Herald label.
