YLANG YLANG

Ylang ylang is native to south east Asia, meaning ‘flower of flowers’ and offers a sweet, flowery fragrance. In the 19th century women were known to use the flowers to decorate and perfume their hair. In Indonesia, it is customary to spread ylang ylang flowers on the bed of a couple on their wedding night. Today ylang ylang is used to create floral-type perfumes adding an exotic sweetness to perfumes. Ylang ylang oils today with its sweet, full-bodied aroma has gained the reputation as a sensual oil and is generally expensive.
