Recent Events



In October, the Goldenford team - Jackie Luben with Irene Black and Jennifer Margrave - repeated their recent, successful workshop on Point of View (at Cranleigh) for the Arts Alive Festival in Dorking and Leatherhead.

Jackie and Irene were at the Guildford Institute, selling and signing their books, to coincide with the Guildford Book Festival.

Jacquelynn Luben was one of the three authors from Goldenford Publishing (with Irene Black and Jennifer Margrave) presenting the successful workshop, ‘Depends on your Point of View', at the Cranleigh Arts Centre in September.

Jackie Luben was at the Pirbright Horticultural Show in July, selling and signing her books, along with those of other local authors.

23rd April 2012 - World Book Night at Guildford Library - Jacquelynn Luben was at this exciting event, with the other members of the Goldenford Publishers' team and also another 30 Surrey authors, all of whom were available to talk to members of the public from 7.30 p.m. right up till midnight. There were quizzes and prizes, the event was featured in the local press, and about 150 members of the public turned up and chatted with the authors. During November, Jackie Luben was selling and signing books at the Goldenford stand at George Abbot School, Burpham, and St Peter's School, Merrow with other Goldenford authors. They were also at the Guildford Institute, selling and signing for four days.

In November, Jacquelynn Luben was one of the three Goldenford authors presenting a writers' workshop: ‘Mapping your Story’, at the Cranleigh Arts Centre, and this was well attended and extremely successful. She also participated in an earlier workshop in Cranleigh, Sense and Sensibility in October. Jackie Luben gave a successful talk to the daytime Reading Circle at Knaphill Library on her books and short stories and what inspired them, in October 2011.

Jackie joined with two other Goldenford authors in a very successful performance of 'Music and the Muse' at Staines Synagogue in August.

Jackie Luben was at the Pirbright Horticultural Show selling and signing books at on 30th July.

Jackie gave a talk at Knaphill Library to the Knaphill Reading Circle about her books and short stories and what inspired them, in May 2011.

In October 2010, Jackie was with the Goldenford authors at a performance of Music and the Muse at the Guildford Institute, which was much enjoyed. Jackie was with two other authors from Goldenford Publishers for a workshop - Mapping your Story - at Leatherhead, part of the Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival, October 2010.

Jacquelynn Luben gave a talk on self publishing to the Guildford Writers' Workshop group, run by Stella Stocker, at the Guildford Institute, on Tuesday, 18th May.

Jacquelynn Luben was at the Brighton Fringe Festival, on 15th May 2010 with other Goldenford authors when they presented a writers' workshop, based on their succussful Sense and Sensitivity workshops carried out in 2009.

Jackie Luben was at Bramley Library on both 4th February and 26th February with other members of the Goldenford team, talking to the two Library Reading Groups about her novels.

Jacquelynn Luben was at Waterstone's, Dorking on Sunday, 22nd November to sign copies of her two novels, A Bottle of Plonk and Tainted Tree, together with fellow author, Irene Black with her Indian novels.

"Sense and Sensitivity - Five Senses in Fiction" (A Writers' Workshop) at Mole Valley Arts Live Festival 2009 - Saturday, 10th October and at the Guildford Book Festival 2009 on Saturday, 17th October.

Jackie was one of the Goldenford authors running two workshops on consecutive weeks, in which they used their knowledge and expertise to help develop aspiring writers' creativity.
