Welcome to The Jacob Ross Website. This site provides information about one of the 'Rising Stars' of Caribbean literary fiction.. To date this author has produced two collections of short stories, Song for Simone (1986) and A Way to Catch the Dust (1999) which have, despite the relatively small output, already begun to extend the form of the short story and attracted a great deal of literary attention in the UK and abroad.
Ross is often described as 'a writer's writer' because of his mastery of narrative and the stunning versatility with which he deploys language, ranging from Eastern Caribbean Creole,
through to a lush, lyrical deployment of the English language. Ross has also developed a reputation in the UK as an effective tutor of Creative writing. You will find
some sample course schemas in resources. This site provides a
Resource Section with Press coverage, book Reviews, Booking Information, Review Quotes,
Images, Information about the Author and a Feedback
section where you can 'post' your views about this site as well as relevant questions. |
