About Mike

Bush PB51(middle left)(restored)

Hello I'm mike gohl and I've  been collecting for about 4 years.
I first started collecting back in 1996 when I aquired a Bush AC34
for 10 pounds.I hadn't a clue on repairs so I trusted this to someone else.
The set came back but it cost 80 pounds which I thought alot. Some time
latter i was offered a Bush AC41,this was a smaller set and as I balked at paying
all that money for restoration, I decided to have a go and all it needed was some
wire and a resistor and it worked, from this I was hooked. Since then I
collected any old sets and paid through the nose for most of these and I
am sure that most collectors have in the past.I ended up with
about a fifty sets of so so type type. Some time latter a friend I met invited me
to a radio do in cowbit, this I enjoyed and was able to aquire some tasty sets,
this was where I was introduced to the Radiophile and latter at another meeting
the BVWS,so from there my hobby just got bigger. All colectors will during there
collecting require the need to specialise(otherwise there collections just outgrow
the space available). I specialise in Bush radio equipment from the early 1930's to
the late 1950's,this gives me a tremendous scope for my collection and even then
I do like to have the occasional HMV,Marconi,Ekco etc to add a litle variety
I hope you like this site and if not please tell me and I will modify it(providing it
is a reasonable suggestion)

DOES ANYONE RECOGNISE THIS.

WELL IT'S A METER FROM THE DEFUNCT MOORSIDE TRANSMITTER.
I AM AFTER ANY LIKE THIS.SOME YEARS AGO THE BVWS COLLECTED ALOT OF EX-MOORSIDE EQUIPMENT AND IT WAS DONATED TO MEMBERS IN A RAFFLE.I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANY MEMBERS WHO HAVE SOME OF THESE METERS AND WOULD LIKE TO PASS THEM ON TO MY GOOD SELF.
