CRUNCHY CHOCOLATE SLICE

This is an all-time favourite with my workmates. Scary, isn't it? It's incredibly rich, so I wouldn't recommend eating too much of it at once, okay?! Taken from the BBC Good Food Magazine.

INGREDIENTS

200g/8oz butter

400g/16oz Digestive biscuits

6 tbsp Golden Syrup

4 tbsp cocoa powder

100g/4oz raisins

200g/8oz plain chocolate

METHOD

Lightly grease a square baking tin (approx 8in.) Crush the biscuits in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.

Melt the butter and syrup in a pan. Stir in the cocoa and raisins, then thoroughly stir in the biscuit crumbs. Spoon into the tin and press down firmly with the back of a spoon. Leave to cool.

Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water (or in the microwave). Spread over the biscuit base and chill until set.
