Contract for Holiday Accommodation

The contract to provide holiday accommodation is subject to the following conditions. Please read them carefully.

Condition 1

For the purposes of clarity the property owner referred to in the following text shall mean Harrison Holidays and the client shall mean all persons over the age of 18 entering into a contract for holiday accommodation in accordance with the following conditions.

Condition 2

Booking the Property

Availability would normally be accurately represented on our website, however please check up to date availability by telephoning +44(0 )1580 879328, e-mailing enquiries@harrison-holidays.co.uk, or faxing +44 (0)1580 879729. The booking form can be downloaded from our website, or alternatively obtained together with full details of the cottage directly from the above telephone number. To reserve the property please complete and sign the booking form, returning it to The White Cottage, Union Street, Flimwell, East Sussex. TN5 7NT, including 30% of the total rent payable by way of a non-refundable deposit. Following receipt of the booking form and deposit, Harrison Holidays will reserve the accommodation and send to you a confirmation receipt.

 

The full balance is payable eight weeks prior to the first day of your holiday. If payment is not received by the due date, Harrison Holidays reserves the right to give notice in writing that the resevation is cancelled and the deposit will bw forfeited. If after the balance has been paid and within eight weeks prior to commencement of occupation the resevation has for any reason to be cancelled, the Client will only receive a refund of the balance of the payment if Harrison Holidays are able to re-let the accommodation and any reasonable expenses incurred in so doing have been deducted from the refund.

 

The property will normally be rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis.

Condition 3

Holiday Insurance

In consideration of condition 2 above, it is the responsibility of the Client or Clients to arrange their own comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) as Harrison Holidays have no insurable interest. Cover should also be provided for belongings and public liability. These are not covered in the Property Owner’s Insurance Policy.

 

The use of amenities is entirely at the user’s risk and the Owner will not accept responsibility for injury to the Client, his guests and third parties or loss or damage to any baggage, personal belongings, vehicle or its contents belonging to the Client or any member of his party howsoever caused.

Condition 4

Occupation of the Property

The maximum number of persons allowed to occupy the property will be as indicated on your booking form and would not normally exceed five. No other persons, other than those scheduled on the booking form, are permitted to reside overnight within the property.

 

Occupation is deemed to commence from 16.00 hours (4pm) on the arrival day and finish at 10.00 hours (10am) on the final day. It is essential that all clients have vacated by this time, allowing the cottage to be prepared for the incoming guests.

Condition 5

Care of the Apartment

Harrison Holidays endeavour to present accommodation to the highest of standards, including furnishings, fixtures, fittings and inventory. Save for reasonable wear and tear and small breakages (ie, a glass), the Client is responsible for maintaining the property in the condition in which it was presented, although final cleaning is of course included in the price structure. If the property is neglected, requiring extensive cleaning on vacating, the Client will be held responsible for reasonable additional cleaning charges. If inventory items are damaged or missing the Client will be responsible for replacement costs.

 

Clients are also asked to respect the neighbours and not cause any unreasonable disturbance.

Condition 6

Maintenance of Property

The Client should report to the Owner any defects within the property

Condition 7

Owner’s Liability

  1. The Owner shall not be liable to the Client for any temporary defects affecting amenities within the accommodation, such as the supply of public services.
  2. For any losses or damage resulting from strikes, war, riot, adverse or inclement weather conditions or any other perils beyond the reasonable control of the owner.
  3. The Owner will not be responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience suffered by the Client if the accommodation is destroyed or damaged beyond tenantable repair immediately prior to the rental period booked. The owner will, however, refund in full all monies payable in respect of the holiday booking, by so doing determine the contract. No other monies other than the full rent payable for the period will be refundable and therefore the Owners limitation shall not exceed this sum.
